CEV I can cope with lock down, I can almost cope with a nocturnal teen, I can cope with the industry genius (that is my DH, to me he is lovable and ordinary)

In his world, and I mean his industry he is a genius.....

He has however been camping out in my front room since March...I am bored of it.

I am furloughed yet again.....

I can do it all and shrug at it all, but I can not clean my own house, I do not mess it up on my own, so I am not cleaning it on my own.

Clarity please.

I did not enable voting, I only wanted to know if cleaners could still work. Grin

What exactly is your question?

Rainallnight · 05/01/2021 00:42

Oh cross post. You want to know if cleaners can work. I think so

FinallyFluid · 05/01/2021 00:51

Thank you, I was just trying to raise some levity out of a shitty situation.

I don’t understand your first post.
Your second asks if a cleaner can still come? Yes. This is allowed in the rules. However i would be extremely cautious mixing households etc. If you are furloughed is it not just easier and safer to clean yourself? Assuming no disability

If you are CEV, having a cleaner who is presumably travelling to multiple homes come into your space is probably not the best idea though? Given that you have a DH and a teen who can only work/study and otherwise don't have the usual hobbies or social life, can you not draw up some kind of division of labour so everyone does some of the cleaning?

RiojaRose · 05/01/2021 01:04

Ah. I thought you were suggesting your DH might pick up a duster from time to time. That would be my preferred solution, in your shoes. Even a genius needs to pitch in. And, obviously, the teenager. My teenager is becoming quite good at hoovering although I wouldn’t trust her with the dishwasher.

Thank you all, she does (to date come and wear a mask) I have had cancer twice in the last five years, finishing last treatment the day they locked us down in March, mentally I am bright and sassy, can do the on line shop, do the laundry (to be sent out) cook a dinner every evening, (takeaway on Friday and DH does Saturday and Sunday) but do not have a lot of physical energy.

I can banish DH to the front room with the door closed, DT to their room with with the door closed and take the car for a very long spin.

Good to know she is allowed in, if we are careful.

Thank you all.
