Would it be beyond the realms of possibility for the govt to quickly commission some teaching resources to broadcast (either on the internet or for even better accessibility over the TV).
I know there are resources out there but I'm thinking of something like a free virtual 9am-3.30pm "classroom", with a proper timetable. DH works in a private school and that's how their school was structured during the last lockdown. Even down to scheduled breaks.
Not all state schools do the same.
If Joe Wickes can do PE for the entire nation, surely someone can do Maths/History/French (and try to make it entertaining).

That is actually a great idea. I am not one for bashing govt on here as a default reaction to everything but the education Secretary is a special breed of incompetent. So no surprise that he can’t manage something even remotely creative.

They have. It’s called Oak Academy.

Oh, and it was created by teachers so better than anything Gavin Williamson could come up with. They got government funding.

And the BBC have just announced three hours of lessons/educational programmes daily for primary kids on CBBC and two hours for secondary on BBC2.
