Ninja Foodi Health Grill & Air Fryer

Has anyone else used one of these? I bought one just before Christmas as a present for myself because I am a gadget junkie, but I am just SO impressed with it.

I am a good and experienced cook, so isn't because I am cooking things that I have never cooked otherwise and just don't know better. I only mention that because having compared the weird, soft gloop that comes out of a slow cooker to the tasty, browned deliciousness of a conventional oven-cooked casserole, makes me wonder about the raves for those!

This is the Foodi Grill, not the Foodi all in one cooker thing - I have whatsoever no need of a pressure cooker (never use one) or steamer (use a pan steamer).

I have made the most fantastic marinaded Peri-Peri chicken wings, wonderful caramelised-on-the-edges roast mixed veg, spatchcocked roast chicken, sweet potato fries, roast potatoes, roast butternut squash, roast broccoli (with chilli & garlic YUM) and lamb rack. It did a damned good steak and it also grilled asparagus beautifully. I am going to make kale crisps today...

It makes everything far more quickly and BETTER than my (good quality Neff) oven or grill. It is a doddle to clean as well.

This is the first gadget I have ever owned where I can see myself using it more or less all the time instead of my oven and grill pan apart from when I am catering for larger numbers. I honestly think it is a game changer for me. AIBU?

Is this an advert?

I can't understand why you think you're being unreasonable for liking something. That makes no sense.

Haffiana · 04/01/2021 13:22

Nope - I am wondering if anyone found theirs to be a total waste of time or if they agree with me.

This is MN after all - people would definitely think me unreasonable for liking something...

There are more and more of these types of posts. Similar one about M&S the other day. I am starting to think this is a different type of advertising now that everyone is becoming wise about influencers on Instagram

Gertie75 · 04/01/2021 13:26

I've recently bought the 9 in 1 and have used it every day, so far I've made chicken curry, chicken nuggets, vegetable pasta bake and a potato bake, I'm planning to do a whole chicken today and then the veg and roast potatoes.

I've read that they're great for making cakes too but haven't attempted them yet.

How other people find it doesn't matter if you like it though.

Will you throw it out if you get 20 posts saying it's crap?

Haffiana · 04/01/2021 13:28

I am so not an influencer. I do not have Facebook, let alone Instagram.

I am seriously impressed enough to post about this.

Hello, can I ask what made you choose this over the full shebang?

Haffiana · 04/01/2021 22:32

The full shebang doesn't have a grill, and I really wanted a grill to do chops, steaks, fish and to char asparagus etc.

I would never use the pressure cooker or steamer, and didn't need a machine to do wet items like stews.

I think it depends on what you think you will use.

My DM got herself one before Xmas and tbh is struggling with it. I was amazed at the alleged diversity of it, oven, grill, slow cooker, pressure cooker, air frying and so on. It's as big as a Henry Hoover body.
Apart from the instruction booklet, where do you get your cooking guides from? Any tips? I'd love to report back some encouraging news for her. Thanks.

Yep I know old thread but I need to know about this thing! We're just about to move house, no oven/cooker in the new place. New fitted kitchen due ASAP but no idea when that'll be. Wondering if I need to buy second hand cooker (hassle - needs collected, then electrician, to get rid of later) or if we could survive with one of these and camping gas for a month or so. One adult, one starving teen, two younger kids. Eat home cooked food most days. Summer, so BBQ's too and days out plus kids away for 2 weeks with STBXH. Possible or bad idea?

NotJustACigar · 07/07/2021 14:51

If you're going to do that cuppateamum o recommend the ninja foodi that comes with a pressure cooker, oven, air fryer etc rather than the one without the pressure cooker which also sautes, steams etc.

NotJustACigar Thank you... but oh lordy I'm so confused ConfusedConfused! I was thinking of this dual thing cos I thought I can do meat one side and veggies the next. Also pasta bake and I can see that we'd use the dehydrate thing for fruit. We have a slow cooker and rice cooker already... Confused Maybe I'll just get a cheap oven off Facebook!
