To be shaven, or not to be shaven???

First off, I'm a chef so as you can imagine we are all...
A)furloughed
B)bored rigid
C)extremely crude. (Seriously. It seems to be a kitchen thing, you start off as innocent as Mary, and within a month your telling the assistant manager that a colleague is helping your very camp manager to cut his lacy thong off when she inquires why they have the door shut in the office!!)
So we were having a as usual, rather smutty conversation on messenger when it turned to shaving every hair off down below. Not a Brazilian, or a landing strip; naked as the day you were born.
Turns out, from a group of 6 women, varying ages, (I'm in the middlish) I am the only person who doesn't shave it all off. Dont get me wrong, it's not like I let it grow so long i can plait it, tie it in a bow and tuck in my socks, but I was quite surprised. More over, 3 of them do this because their partner prefers it that way!
So, in the spirit of coping with lockdown, help a chef out here ladies
YANBU - I really can't be bothered with the hassle
YABU - I'm a smooth fan

@Pinkerbells

100% a man posting. Only a man would say 'ladies......'

And nope, I am not going to discuss my pubes either.

Go get your kicks somewhere else.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/01/2021 15:02

ooooooookay

CrotchBurn · 04/01/2021 15:02

I'm like

To be shaven, or not to be shaven???
TaraR2020 · 04/01/2021 15:02

You don't plait it??

You're missing out!

Pinkerbells · 04/01/2021 15:03

100% not a man im afraid.
Really was more curious than anything else and wondered if this was new habit that us expected of women. Confused

There have been a million threads on this already. You are not the first 'crazy chef ' to ask this question

Bluntness100 · 04/01/2021 15:09

I have had a previous bf comment on it which made me think that men do prefer all off, but I don’t want to look like a child

That’s quite creepy. No adult woman’s genitalia looks like a child’s and I’m not sure why you’d think like that. I’d get my post deleted if I was you.

Toilenstripes · 04/01/2021 15:13

@FestiveFruitloop

Crikey, why the nastiness from some posters?

OP your post made me laugh. Grin

I trim things neat but otherwise leave well alone. I'm in my early 50s - age is definitely significant with this kind of thing imho.

Why the nastiness? Hmmmm....let me think why I might be nasty towards a stranger enquiring after my bits.....

Agree. It makes me cringe when I see people saying 'I don't shave my pubes as I don't want to look like a child.'

See also 'men who like shaved pubes must be into children.'

Revolting, sickening attitude.

Anyone who thinks a grown woman with her pubes shaved looks like a child, needs serious help.

WildOrchids67 · 04/01/2021 15:18

Early 30s, I use veet to take the lot off. Sometimes shave it if I just want it done quickly. I prefer the way it feels. Guys probably do prefer it and I have no problem getting rid of the hair.

contrmary · 04/01/2021 15:31

Generally speaking I have it shaved. Personally I don't like hair that's not on my head. I prefer feeling smooth.

snowisfallingallaroundus · 04/01/2021 15:41

Shaving my arm pits and legs weekly and plucking the old chin is enough thanks.

The minge stays furry.

Ithinkhedidit · 04/01/2021 15:42

I don't give a shit what people do but just popping in with the usual reminder that shaving pubic hair is NOT more hygienic. Do it for whatever reason you like but please don't spread the misinformation that shaving/waxing is "cleaner". It isn't. Washing makes you clean, nothing else.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/01/2021 15:43

I am never eating out again.

AlwaysLatte · 04/01/2021 15:51

'Ladies' Hmm
??

CigarsofthePharoahs · 04/01/2021 15:53

Due to a bad bout of eczema most of mine fell out.

YoniAndGuy · 04/01/2021 15:55

It is not more hygienic.

Exactly the opposite in fact.

It's there for a reason!

I used to shave but that just made me itch. I now (well pre covid) get Hollywood Waxes. I feel cleaner & sexier. My husband loves it too!

This. Exactly this.
