Aibu to send toddler to nursery in tier 4 when I could keep her at home?

As above. I have a place part time just for her socialisation etc but am now second guessing myself as I could keep her at home. She is 20 months and desperate for stimulation so I think for her development it’s worth the COVID risk. Keen to hear what others think...

I’m sending my 3 year old, even though I’m on maternity leave. She’s in a bubble of three children at nursery, she loves it there, it’s her education, and it keeps me sane having her in nursery.

We can’t keep her out of nursery for the best part of a year while everyone gets vaccinated.

I am keeping my 2.5 year old at home for now. He loves nursery and I do worry about him missing out on being with other children but I just don't think it is worth it. We are tier 4 and there were a couple of cases at nursery before Christmas and he had to self isolate anyway. I have told nursery and they are grateful as they are already low on staff so happy for reduced numbers.

I don’t think it’s a question of keeping them home until everyone is vaccinated, I think it’s literally the eye of the storm right now. January was always going to be tough. Life can carry on but for us (and we have had it too) we need to just treat January like full lockdown and do what we can to reduce contacts across the board.

Also...not going in means less chance of having to self isolate and actually being stuck completely in the house!!

I don't think I could WFH with a toddler. I would send her in..
