Lots were going off round here and we watched from the windows. Some neighbours watched from their garden. No rule breaking.

It's only just gone quiet here. Definite parties. And Tier 4 rule breaking.

@StormcloakNord

Not sure why you're getting pelters OP.

Absolutely nobody in this country should be having any kind of party tonight. Highest possible level of selfishness. We all want this fucking shite to be over & the selfish cunts having parties when the rest of us are trying to stick to the shitty rules is the biggest bloody slap in the face

That's how I feel.

But some people on here are apparently really enjoying the restrictions and want to prolong them. And wouldn't mind at all of people held super-spreader events in their area.

A party in a pandemic? With all the windows tightly shut so people can't hear them. Why not? What could go wrong?!

Because the virus "only kills people with ore-existing conditions" and people with allergies, a hernia, housemaids elbow and chronic ingrown toenails are famously constantly in the verge of death in any case.

I'm fucking raging.

How much worse do people want this month to be?

Would far rather they concentrated on actual serious crimes.
PrincessNutNuts · 01/01/2021 04:38

I'd rather thousands of people didn't die this month but here we are.

The law's the law. Why bother making super-spreader events illegal if they're not "serious"?

There are six people in my household, we assembled in the garden to watch our neighbour’s firework display - should we be rounded up? After all, to the untrained (nosey ear) we probably sounded like we were having a drunken shindig

1forAll74 · 01/01/2021 04:50

You are very annoyed, so what is going on. I sadly missed bit of new years goings on tonight, I live in a village, and everyone has decide to be quiet big time. The only noise I heard, was at about 11 PM. when two cats outside, decided to have a little fight,,, not any of my three cats, they were all asleep on my bed..

I can just imagine here, that if there was any noise around midnight here, there would be about 50 people on the community FB pages, ranting about a loud noise, people happy and singing, and shouting happy new year to everyone. ha ha.

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/01/2021 06:08

My friend and her dh probably got it from hospital. He only had day surgery and will have worn a mask where possible. Someone on a recent thread said they got it from distanced doorstep present swapping. It’s virulent and I know these parties aren’t helping at all. But no human contact is helping.

nosswith · 01/01/2021 08:03

OP if you saw any, did you phone the police?

The French with a curfew and 100,000 police to seek to enforce it had the right idea.

Casschops · 01/01/2021 09:16

OKHmm

Baycob · 01/01/2021 09:33

I think you are making a lot of assumptions and what you are really pissed off with is feeling lonely and you hate fireworks.

Frownette · 01/01/2021 09:42

It's too cold to be out anyway! But we were urged to stay at home and I was happy with that with tea and chocolate.

I don't like going out nye unless it's to a friend's house, and couldn't do that this year.

There were a lot of people getting back quite late e.g. 4am but obviously just couples not crowds.

Did you have a nice time @1forAll74?

Bluesmartiesandpandapop · 01/01/2021 09:45

Yes because it's illegal to have fun now. His forbid anyone enjoy themselves. You'd think that Covid was cured by glumness and misery the way some go on!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/01/2021 09:45

Did you actually RING the police, or just expect them to follow the noise of the fireworks like Lassie following cries from an abandoned mineshaft?

PrincessNutNuts · 01/01/2021 13:11

I was shocked and heart-sick that people could do this. I didn't believe people would be so stupid.

By about 4am when all the car doors were slamming and people were walking past in groups singing lustily the shock had worn off and I was just angry.

Reading about the chubby blokes in matching Union Jack T shirts who had a fight in the street down the road from me isn't amusing me today as it normally would.. I'm too worried about how many people will die because of their party.

No.

The police have got more important things to do than break up covid-spreading parties

They were called to a fight about two streets away whose party I could hear but not see. But not by me.

Didn't hear any parties last night, too busy cleaning the kitchen listening to my music.

I didn't expect to. I vastly under-estimated the cuntishness of people.

I didn't expect our road to turn into a street party last night but it did. People had all agreed to go on their doorsteps with a drink at 7pm to toast in the new year and then before anyone realised there was a flipping party going on outside with about 20 or more people for two hours. I didn't go as I'm following the rules but they were all very self righteous with their social distancing, when ffs they should know that's still against the rules.
