To ask those who have had COVID to donate plasma

I have just received a call from the nhs asking for me to donate plasma.

My adult children have both donated
It sounds like they are desperate from the call ,
I volunteered in October but didn’t meet the age or weight criteria when I looked then but now they say I am ok

So if you looked but we’re not eligible then look again

There are no appointments in a forty mile radius of here for at least two months. It's ridiculous. I don't live out in the sticks either.

I've tried to donate but repeatedly have been turned down, same with blood.
I'm a little under 9 stone but definitely not underweight, is this the issue?

I have just googled how to do it so I can show my OH later - he was hospitalised with Covid in January, but of course they didn’t test back then, they just asked if he’d been to China recently. He had an antibody test in August which showed he had had it, so I’ll ask him to register in case he still has antibodies.

I looked as i would happily donate but had a transfusion in 2010 and they dont have plasma from people who have had bloody transfusions which is a shame because i can never give blood again esp after it saved my life back then i would happily pay it forward...my oh gives blood on my behalf as he never had before i was poorly and only when i couldnt he stepped up.

It is a shame tho i would have happily given mine.

Despite living centrally there wasn’t anywhere within an hour of me to donate. I would’ve done but they did seem to make it fairly difficult!
