To ask for help finding a giant purple octopus?

DS2 turns 3 next week.., he has been dinosaur mad for a long time but in the past few months has taken a shine to octopi..

Anyway he had requested "a giant big purple octopus" for his birthday like this one..

It's discontinued from Wilkos!

Has anyone got one they wish to sell?? I'm in the north east and happy to pay the purchase value plus postage!!

Look on their website/your app/account. You should be able to request one.

Would a Henry the Octopus toy do? He’s part of a massive kids line from the Wiggles children’s group in Australia and you can buy a tonne of stuff online. If you google “Henry the Octopus “ a lot comes up.

Do you have any knitters/crocheters in the family? My DD has a lovely knitted octopus and you could make it as big as you want and any colour you want.

If all else fails, here is a tutorial on making a giant squid pillow, alter the pattern a little bit and it could be an octopus easily.

And if you don't feel up to making it yourself, I'm happy to give it a go. I wanted to try out the pattern but I don't have room in my house for the finished product, if you pay for materials I'll do the work.

Oh and this one is 8 foot long but we could halve the pattern and make it a mere 4 footer. Hell, if we didn't do a full set of padding it could be a wearable octopus costume as well as a giant plushie.

If it weren't needed so quickly, I could crochet a huge one. It would take a good bit of work and materials, but what I would charge would all go to a charity I support.

I enjoy a challenge. I made an octopus hat for someone a few years ago. No pattern. Just crocheted and it came out OK.

@Mountainpika there was a girl on Tiktok who crocheted a life-size Thanos from the Avengers films, it was scarily realistic. She's now moved on to making life-size Shrek.

My mother has one which I think she won in a raffle! Its hideous but it is a giant purple octopus. I'll take a photo later. Dont know how I would post it though...
