Made spag Bol for dinner. Turned my back for a second an cat has his head in the pan.

Would you still dish it up, he only had a little lick and still plenty left for everyone else Smile

GrinGrin This post has made me laugh thanks OP.

Chanandlerbong01 · 30/12/2020 20:46

My cat woke me up this morning by licking my open mouth.... I think we are past worrying about a shared spag Bol. She normally paws food off my plate as soon as I’m not focussed anyway!

AndcalloffChristmas · 30/12/2020 20:47

No, I don’t think I could.

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 30/12/2020 20:50

Surely the 3 second rule applies? Give it a stir, whack the heat up and never mention it again.

Vitaminsss · 30/12/2020 20:52

Erm, surely you should ask the people you’re serving the food to? You might be happy to eat it, they may not. Let them decide and consent.

Personally I wouldn’t want cat hair etc in my food...I don’t own any pets though.

KindergartenKop · 30/12/2020 20:54

I'd like to know what percentage of the people saying yes eat it also have a cat and what percentage of the throw it away contingent don't!

Chanandlerbong01 · 30/12/2020 20:56

@KindergartenKopn I reckon those saying it’s fine have cats

Lovemusic33 · 30/12/2020 21:02

I would eat it. I’m sure most of those saying they wouldn’t don’t own a cat?

GreySkyClouds · 30/12/2020 21:04

This is why I don’t like eating in other people's houses; you never know how low their hygiene standards are.

TheCanyon · 30/12/2020 21:04

Would I feck serve it. But then, our cat recently had tapeworm from presumably eating mice Angry

PoloNeckKnickers · 30/12/2020 21:08

My cat nibbled my banana sandwich yesterday and I still ate it. What's the worst that can happen?

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 30/12/2020 21:08

Enough to
make a fly spew up. Bin it.

isseys4xmastinselcats · 30/12/2020 21:17

no i wouldnt i have four cats so my standards are not high but every mouthful i would be thinking the cats licked this i couldnt eat it i would find an alternative topping for the spaghetti

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 30/12/2020 21:24

Yes I would. I have a cat and don't mind sharing. I have pretty low hygiene standards by mumsnet standards though.

Rosebel · 30/12/2020 21:26

My mum served us gravy that the cat had licked. It sounds grim but no one was ill and she only told me about two years after it happened.

VetiverAndLavender · 30/12/2020 21:26

If you heat it up a bit longer, I'm sure any stray germs will be killed.

VetiverAndLavender · 30/12/2020 21:28

(And I don't have a cat. Wink We do have dogs, but they can't reach any pots or pans while I'm cooking/serving.)

vanillandhoney · 30/12/2020 21:30

Wouldn't remotely bother me.

IHaveBrilloHair · 30/12/2020 21:32

I would, I have three cats so my entire house is catted anyway.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 30/12/2020 23:14

My cat gives me extra big kisses when I've (we've, I don't get away without sharing) had something she likes that is highly scented - think bacon or smoked salmon.
GeorgiaMcGraw · 30/12/2020 23:17

Heat kills germs. Make sure you cook it for a couple extra minutes (get it to over 70 degrees celsius). Should be fine.

Aerielview · 30/12/2020 23:17

That's gross

angelikacpickles · 30/12/2020 23:19

Absolutely grim.

CrotchBurn · 30/12/2020 23:20

This is a no brainer but then I let my cat drink out my glass or I might let her lick my spoon clean of yoghurt before I continue eating etc

Spoiler: I'm still alive

Shitonthebloodything · 30/12/2020 23:21

My cat eats pigeons so no.
