To have had gin

It's 5.17pm and I'm half cut!

In my defence, ds is with his dad and my dsc with their mum so I'm in charge of no one.

I'm in a tier 4 area and I have had enough! I'm miserable. Gin helps, send more

Heading to tier four tonight, drinking wine.
Don't anyone suggest dry January in 2021!

BovrilonToast · 30/12/2020 18:35

@WalkingOnStarshine

I think I've had gin or some other alcoholic beverage every day for the last few weeks. I was planning a dry January but that can fuck off now.
I thought about doing dry January but we are in T4. What else will we do if not drink!?
harriethoyle · 30/12/2020 18:36

The sun is WELL over the yard arm... we're on lidl's extra dry rose prosecco! Delicious!

MorvaanReed · 30/12/2020 18:38

I poured a Bailey's about 4. I rarely drink, even at Christmas/New Year and I'm now mildly buzzed.

GreyMary23 · 30/12/2020 18:41

Same here. Wine though. Am also attempting dry jan so polishing off all the festive booze and food for a fresh start in January. It's just really the responsible and logical thing to do Grin

Crazycakelady17 · 30/12/2020 18:42

Same here 🥂 and I have been so lazy had all intentions of cooking a nice steak tea but thought sod it and we have ordered a takeaway!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 30/12/2020 18:50

I'm surprised at how little I've had to drink over the Christmas period (apart from two litres of mulled wine Xmas Grin - but that's since around 15 Dec.)
The champagne that I opened on Christmas morning still not finished. Still surprisingly effervescent yesterday evening.

girlcrushonvillanelle · 30/12/2020 18:51

Surely dry January can wait ........ until 2022?

AlwaysLatte · 30/12/2020 18:53

Enjoy it! (Maybe have a few cups of tea so you have some to look forward to later 😉)
I think gin is not a bad idea today. How do the school closings affect you? We're in tier 4 so both our two off until Jan 18.

Daisy829 · 30/12/2020 18:53

Most days during the Xmas break I’ve been cracking open a glass of wine about 4ish. Not much else to do atm & I don’t drink all evening. I’m doing dry jan as my payback. My daughter doesn’t believe I can so I just succeed 🤣

S111n20 · 30/12/2020 18:56

🤭 enjoy everyone. Why not ?

ThelmaNotLouise · 30/12/2020 19:01

My gin start time has crept earlier and earlier as this shitty pandemic's continued. An early drink once in a while really isn't the worst thing in the world!

Totally agree! Your liver might not thank you for the delay, but your mood and ability to cope might.
ButterboxSpoon · 30/12/2020 19:15

It's Christmas, enjoy the gin! I am 1/3 of a bottle of Brancott Sauvignon Blanc down and I don't even have Dry January as my excuse 😁

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/12/2020 19:16

YANBU

AdoraBell · 30/12/2020 19:58

I was just about to pour myself a gin when DH offered me wine. He’s still sitting down Hmm so I’m waiting. Still.

LakieLady · 30/12/2020 20:10

Bloody hell, I'm late to the party ....(toddles off to the cupboard to get gin)...

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 30/12/2020 20:16

Nowt wrong with that! I'm waiting for my tea to cook then I'm gonna get on the gin! Enjoy.

Still1nLove · 30/12/2020 20:35

Ooh gin, yes please.,....

HelenaJustina · 31/12/2020 09:59

By the time I got back from doing a food shop it was too late for gin Angry planning to make up for it this evening!
