Putting empty wrappers back in box

DP always has a go at me for putting empty wrappers back in the celebrations box. So tell me AIBU?

I won a raffle prize once, when I opened the packet someone had helped themselves to about six of the wrapped chocolates and left the empty wrappers in the box!

Obviously YABU.

However when I was growing up we would spend considerable time and energy reassembling empty wrappers to look full, so someone would think "Ooh, a purple one!" and then it would crumple in their hand. So I would argue that if you are doing it as a trick it is OK, once a year.

Where's the vote?

It's a Christmas crime.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 30/12/2020 14:56

@purpledagger

My children leave empty boxes and packets in the cupboard and it drives me and OH crazy. Today, I've found empty biscuit boxes and empty crisp multipack bags.
My kids do this too!! Drives me insane!!
KipperTheFrog · 30/12/2020 15:56

Teenager had a box for xmas. Be happy if put empties back in box puts them down side of bed on floor in his room. My family put empty things back in fridge too.

grannyinapram · 30/12/2020 16:37

I hate it if anyone else does it, but I'm allowed because I'll be the one to empty them anyway Blush

Housewife2010 · 30/12/2020 16:42

It's so slovenly. I used to hate it when I worked in an office and slatterns would put their used wrappers back in the tin.

GlacindaTheTroll · 30/12/2020 16:44

YABU - it's a flogging offence

ChalkDinosaur · 30/12/2020 16:46

Sorry OP, you're a monster Grin

june2007 · 30/12/2020 16:49

Argh thats a right bug bear of mine. Empty wrappers go in the bin.

lily2403 · 30/12/2020 16:55
