I work in homecare on 0 hour contract. At the moment I'm not working until children are back to school. My work have just informed me I have to take a weekly covid test as it's the law regardless of any symptoms. Is this inforcable? I'm not working but they say it's law (mentioned numerous times over the phone) I have to self test. No instructions on how to do it. I feel pressured into doing a test which is not pleasant to do. Can my work do this?

Care homes have been doing this local to me for months.

Secondary schools will also follow the same practice soon too.

Tests come with full instructions, after test 1 you will know how to do the test.

so don’t do it

Perhaps it's not the job for you right now. It's to protect vulnerable people.

My SIL works in a big supermarket and they've got to self test twice a week. In a care home I think it's more justified.

We been testing since July, lost count of how many. I'm due 1 tomorrow after my night shift.

My daughter does these for her NHS job. She tested positive on Christmas day. That test saved us mixing with vulnerable family members, possibly saving their lives. I takes seconds to do and at most makes you sneeze!

I wish I had these for my workplace as we aren't able to use PPE.

@Tumbleweed101 I had to have one, it does make you sneeze 🤧 doesn't it! 😂

Weird sensation, not painful or horrible ... just weird!

But so so worth it!
