Does your Caesarian scar sometimes feel like it’s being pulled?

DS was born 12 years ago and every now and again it feels as if someone is gently pulling on my scar. It’s a really odd sensation. DH says it’s when DS is thinking something bad about me - like Harry Potter!
Just wondered if anyone else had the same?

Not pulling. I've had 3 CS. Occasionally I get a stabbing pain.
My understanding is that they have to cut through several layers (skin, muscle, uterus). When it heals and scar tissue forms these layers can fuse together, hence the occasional pains.

I get pulling and other pain/sensations in mine. I had my DS 7 years ago and have had no further children or surgery.

I still have little feeling when I touch the area around the scar. I sometimes get tight/pulling feelings or sharp pains. Sometimes if I sneeze or cough hard, I get an awful sharp pain in it literally takes my breath away!

I am told that it's because of scar tissue that forms when all the layers heal. Not much to be done about it sadly but you have my sympathy.

Thanks - it doesn’t hurt but it does feel odd. And I know what you mean about having no feeling in part of it, which is also a bit strange.
Good job he was worth it!

I've had two sections (7 and 3 years ago), I still get pulls and pains, and sometimes itching.

DoraChance · 29/12/2020 16:48

Yes I get this too - ds is 7.

MinnieJackson · 29/12/2020 16:49

Yeah I've had 3 and pretty much no feeling from my lower stomach but sometimes it will do a quick weird pinch but it might happen somewhere else at the same time like my shoulder or boob lol.so maybe nerves?

VerbenaGirl · 29/12/2020 16:49

Yes, occasionally I do.

Queenie8 · 29/12/2020 16:51

Yes I get it! I find the bottom of the jeans waistband rubs along it too. I also have no feeling along a section of the scar, probably ¼ of my scar.

mawbroon · 29/12/2020 16:52

Sometimes. Not so much a pulling sensation but just a wee twinge now and again if I've been more active than usual. DS1 is 15 now

Sittinginmyoodie · 29/12/2020 16:54

Sometimes. I stretched the other day and actually thought I'd torn the bloody thing. My DC are 5 and 7.

I'm still convinced my insides were never put back right after having my eldest. Whenever I have a stomach ache, it feels different, like my intestines are in a different place. Confused

fussychica · 29/12/2020 16:57

28 years on I still have a numb spot though my scar was very low and virtually invisible from very early on. Very fortunate. No pain or tugging.

CandleWick4 · 29/12/2020 16:57

Yep I do! CS done 9 years ago. If I turn too quickly or jolt I can get a really nasty pain in it.

elp30 · 29/12/2020 16:59

Yes!

If I make a sudden movement, it feels as if the skin has overstretched 😖 and I'm convinced it's opening.

It is a weird sort of improvement since only this year I've had any feeling around the scar.

My child is nearly 20.

WankPuffins · 29/12/2020 17:01

Yep.

If I sneeze or cough in wrong position it's like I've been stabbed. Searing pain.

First cs 18 years ago, second 6 years ago and 3rd this year. Started a few months after the first. It's never changed.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 29/12/2020 17:02

DD is nearly 8 and my scar gets itchy or numb still. The tiny scar under my chin where I split it open falling off a bike aged about 7yo still gets itchy very occasionally 30+ years later. Scars are weird!

Icenii · 29/12/2020 17:04

If I exercise hard sometimes it feels like somethinh is pushing against it trying to pop out. I had a scan 4 years ago and no hernia but convinced it was wrong.

TooBored · 29/12/2020 17:05

Yes, mine felt like that for years, especially if I was stretching, e.g. to make the bed.

I had some acupuncture (4 sessions I think) and it really helped and I can't feel it at all now.

Preparedtobetoldimwrong · 29/12/2020 17:05

Clearly it’s very common! Thanks ladies

You'll find out as your DS hits his teenage years. If your DH is right then your scar will hurt whenever your son has a hormonal rage.

Preparedtobetoldimwrong · 29/12/2020 17:14

@KindergartenKop
That’s why I thought of it today. I asked if he wanted to watch Neverending Story with me, got a splendid eye roll in response and then a scar twinge 😂

I get this, my c-section born dc are 7 and 6.

pixiegumboot · 29/12/2020 17:50

Yes. Had two, one 11yrs ago and one 9yrs ago. If I twist too quickly or move my right leg away from my body to quickly the pain is immense. Sometimes I even feel like my entire abdomen will fall right out.
