C-19 related question

Hi there,

I’m positing because I can’t find any info on the government website & really need some help. I’m in a Tier 4 area and as a single person living alone, I’m staying with my support bubble. I’m troubled as I’m not sure whether if someone in my bubble gets C-19 symptoms that means I’d be stuck here until I can get a test; as obviously I don’t live here. I’m posting at this time as it’s keeping me awake and I just really want to go home.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware you can go home if that means living by yourself?

lovelemoncurd · 29/12/2020 01:27

If they get symptoms they go for a test. Results back in 24 hrs. Then you know if you are stuck.

PapercraftNinja · 29/12/2020 01:28

If someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tests positive you would isolate but you could do that alone if you prefer I’m sure

Kazziepooes · 29/12/2020 01:28

@PapercraftNinja: yes, I’m living alone...

Yes if you live alone then you can go home but you can't travel with symptoms yourself.

@PapercraftNinja - thank you

@lovelemoncurd thank you. Yes, of course I’d not travel with symptoms, that would be irresponsible. I can’t find the exact advice anywhere and I’m being beaten over the head re. This by relatives to the point I’ve packed my stuff and intend to leave tomorrow.

You mustn’t get public transport if one of your household/support bubble has symptoms or tests positive. If you’re driving and won’t need to stop then it’s ok

So my understanding of your post is you're staying with your support bubble, neither of you has symptoms, but relatives not in the support bubble are bullying you to go home?

Unless the support bubble person/people is particularly likely to contract symptoms, tell the bullying relatives to mind their own business, or drop contact with them if needs be.
You sound quite anxious about it all - if you feel more comfortable being with your support bubble, and they are happy for you to be there, stay put. Even if support bubble contracts it, you can isolate with them.

If you really want to go home, and that's not just because of bullying relatives, yes, you can.
I think there has to be an interval before you form a new support bubble, or you can keep the existing one but not stay there.

You can go home by car and isolate there.

In a support bubble you are treated like a household so if someone gets symptoms you all have to self isolate!

www.gov.uk/guidance/making-a-support-bubble-with-another-household#if-someone-in-your-support-bubble-develops-coronavirus-symptoms-or-tests-positive

“If someone in your support bubble develops coronavirus symptoms or tests positive
If anyone in your support bubble develops symptoms or tests positive for coronavirus, follow the stay at home guidance.

This is critical to controlling the virus, as it will help to stop it spreading across multiple households.“
