Still wrapped on eBay. Do people really not bother to even unwrap gifts? Or is it just a set up where they have decided to wrap some items up.

Well, nobody wants candles, chocolates or body lotion. It has to go somewhere!

SleepingStandingUp · 28/12/2020 23:33

I'd assume they know what's inside it but are hoping it'll get more bids if it could possibly be something other than body spray or chocolate?

Northernsoullover · 28/12/2020 23:37

I've just looked. That's bonkers! Have you seen what some are going for? I get that you might want to offload a duplicate but this is new to me!

Ginkypig · 28/12/2020 23:41

Most likely they have wrapped up the toot they didn’t want so it goes for more!

Sh05 · 28/12/2020 23:49

I always assumed people bought stuff in the sales to sell on but some of the prices don't add up so maybe they are just loads of unwanted giftsHmm

On the other hand if you buy X in a 75% sale for £20 you then advertise it for sale as an £80 item, wrapped so people can't see it's something that's clearly on sale on every highstreet, even if you make £40 you've doubled your money

Easy money for the vendor, and I think good on them, if buyers are daft enough to pay money for something they can't see probably £1.00 shop tat I'm sure there will be a lot of disappointed buyers😬😂

FreshfieldsGal · 29/12/2020 00:01

Just had a look some of those prices are crazy?!
Could just be a few things from pound land!

rabbitheadlights · 29/12/2020 00:10

Omg just looked at this several of the listings are from the same seller ... Are people really that stupid?

LaurieFairyCake · 29/12/2020 00:17

People really ARE that daft

And loads of people like gambling

Plus there's the money laundering folks

And the drug dealers/criminals with loads of cash they don't know what to do with

And the kids who've had money for Christmas and don't yet know the value of it

But mostly it's the gullible

Sh05 · 29/12/2020 00:21

@SleepingStandingUp
Aah yes I see. Its pretty risky for the buyer though isn't it? Especially if they've listed it as non refundable and no returns.
I can't say I've ever noticed this happening before, maybe it's a new thing!

Guiltypleasures001 · 29/12/2020 00:24

It's a con...

eBay now demand they list the contents of the parcels in the description
It's people selling tat as unwanted gifts basically lying

Maves · 29/12/2020 00:24

It's pathetic just seen one for a "13 year old girl" yeah alright then.

MrsDiplo · 29/12/2020 00:44

Ive found ebay horrendous lately for sellers.

I found a box of my late grandads items and I listed around 20 items as "broken, doesnt work, selling for parts" a few weeks ago. I put in the listings that I do not know for sure it doesnt work but I dont have the device needed to test it (imagine not having a DVD player if I was selling a DVD). So safest just to list it as broken and someone else may want it for parts, but i wasnt sure they didnt work.

I had 3 people open cases against me saying it didnt work. Option was to pay for return postage or just give my address and tell them to return it at there expense. I gave my address and explained the listings did say broken and also it was listed as "broken not working, for parts" and all of them informed me they would like me to pay for the return as the items were broken, and feedback would reflect my actions. I contacted ebay who said it was my call but they wouldnt be removing the feedback as nobody had directly threatened negative feedbacks. the customers requested ebay step in and i was charged £4 a label.

oddly some of the items i listed went for £100+ each but it was the lower end under £10 people that complained.

so i imagine a lot of people will get these items, realise theyre shit and just open a case to send them back.

Some people must have fond memories of a Lucky dip. Silly 😜
