To consider freezing my eggs at my age?

I'm 28 nearly 29. I already have one DD and I'm not yet ready for another until DD is much older, plus I am single.

Is now a good time to freeze my good eggs, or have I missed the boat since my best eggs would have been in my early 20's?

Now is really hot the time to get pregnant but I think I can afford to freeze with my savings. I want any child that I have past 40 to be healthy.

Would now would be a good time before my egg quality really starts to decline?

Freezing eggs isn’t as effective or reliable as freezing embryos - it’s quite normal to ‘lose’ most or even all of them in the thawing process. If you have a partner or want to go down the sperm donor route then make embryos and then freeze them and your attrition rate will be a lot less.

I could be wrong, but thought that frozen eggs didnt always had a good outcome after defrosting, whereas a frozen embryo has a much higher change of survival. I'd read up alot more before proceeding, because any company that does it, would obvioulsy be plying the benefits to you. You'd need to know ongoing costs for freezing, how long they will store them, what if the company go bust etc.

You might be better to have an AMA done to check your egg reserve. That way, you'd have a rough idea whether your egg reserve is above or below average and whether there is a rush to freeze eggs now.

OP I wouldn't do anything at your age yet. I would wait to see if you meet someone in the next 4-5 years and try to conceive naturally if you are ready within this time period. If not consider freezing your eggs at age 34&35. In my experience egg quality doesn't suddenly drop - it's a more gradual process to do with ageing
