To think dd eats her selection box in the wrong order

My Dd (10) starts with her least favourite chocolate bar (fudge) and works her way up to get favourite. I always did it in reverse. I obviously need instant gratification and she prefers the anticipation which may say a lot about our personalities but the question is AIBU or is she. YABU save the best til last YANBU eat the best one first.

@BadTimesAtTheElRoyale

Toominty chocolate buttons in this selection box.

Good choice! My kids like curly wurlies best but make a horrible noise chewing them, urgh!

TaraR2020 · 25/12/2020 21:29

She in unreasonable to say the Fudge is the worst!

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 25/12/2020 21:31

Tooominty I can't abide overly loud eating or chewing noises Xmas Sad

I knew it’d be the fudge causing all the controversy.

I think I’d do the same as her, but with dinners I eat the best but first.

Brighterthansunflowers · 25/12/2020 21:47

I always save the best for last (possibly we’ve all been indoctrinated by 90s bisto adverts Confused)

hansgrueber · 25/12/2020 21:51

@dudsville

Never eat chocolate you don't really like. Eat your favourites and bin the rest. You'll be happier and not develop beard habits of eating things you don't really want!
'Eat the best then share the rest', problem solved!
Flibbitygibbit · 25/12/2020 22:01

Fudge is food of the devil 😱🤷‍♀️🤢👹

christmasathomeagain · 25/12/2020 23:41

I'm with your dd. My dh is more like you with food and starts with his favourite- he is never sure if he will finish something where I know I will 😂

Leeds2 · 26/12/2020 01:20

I always save the best till last too!

purplecorkheart · 26/12/2020 01:26

I am with your dd but prefer savoury food. I order four seasons pizza (or used to when Pizza Express did them). I used to eat the section I liked least first up to my favourite.

Sojo88 · 26/12/2020 01:43

YABU - always save the best till last so there's something to look forward to! I do the same with meals - eat the salad/veg first and save the best bit till last Grin

LindaEllen · 26/12/2020 01:44

If I'm eating a meal I eat my favourite bits first in case I get full.

If it's something that'll be eaten across multiple sittings, I'm with your daughter all the way!

WelcomeToGreenvale · 26/12/2020 02:33

Was taught from a very young age, you eat the sandwiches before the pudding. Always. Eat the bit you don't like so much first, save the good bit for later. I still do this with everything! With a big meal I might mix and match but I leave the last few bites of the best bit until the end!

DramaAlpaca · 26/12/2020 02:38

I'm a save the best for last kind of gal. Always have been and always will.

DH is the opposite, he says it's because he went to boarding school so you had to eat the best things first before someone else did Hmm

ilovesooty · 26/12/2020 02:46

I always do what your daughter does.

LightDrizzle · 26/12/2020 02:51

I always saved the best til last. Still do!

GeorgiaGirl52 · 26/12/2020 02:59

@Beenaboutabit

Given I might have to share, I'd have to go favourite first.
This^.
Anystarinthesky · 26/12/2020 03:04

I eat my favourites first and give the rest to DP.

Whatisthisfuckery · 26/12/2020 03:32

Fudges taste like disappointment. I couldn’t imagine anybody going into a shop and being faced by the cornucopia of delicious chocolate bars on offer and choosing a bloody fudge. Not until I met my ex GF that is. She is an utter freak and likes fudge best and would actually part with her money for it. She also likes coffee creams and those horrible caramel kegs out of the roses though, so god knows what’s gone wrong with her.

Left to my own devices if there are no other predators around I prefer to save the best for last. Sadly in my house if I leave my favourite it’s likely to disappear before I get anywhere near it so I’ll jump on the best thing first.

Every bit of this is correct Grin
Matilda03 · 26/12/2020 07:14

That's crazy! I'm impressed but I've never heard of anyone doing it like that. I would eat my favourites and then give the rest to my dh or children who eat anything chocolate!

Bakeachocolatecake2day · 26/12/2020 07:16

I'm with your dd, but I have heard someone say if you eat the best first you are always eating the "best" of the available items so it;s psychologically better.

KatherineJaneway · 26/12/2020 07:21

I voted YANBU as you have to have the best ones first or they'll be eaten by someone else!

YourStarlessEyes · 26/12/2020 08:08

I always save the best for last, but when it comes to chocolate I'll only eat chocolates I like. Why waste time on those you don't? Grin

DanielRicciardosSmile · 26/12/2020 08:10

Save the best until last, always.
