Yup, that's it ....

I fancy a good bit of telly and have my eye on the West Wing Election special and a new netflix series - can't remember the name but eight parts of rather glorious period drama with Im hoping a wicked sense of humour thrown in.

How about you?

Genuinely interested - and also looking for some good ideas for us. Just three of us including an 18 year old daughter - so all advice welomce !

We're an eclectic bunch - DH a bit esoteric, me pretty much anything, DD loving House and Grey's anatomy and lots of teen stuff...

Would love a bit of laughter...My ideal would be a Sex Education Christmas special!!

Handmaid's Tale on Amazon. I'm a late starter

MustardMitt · 25/12/2020 17:56

Call the Midwife here too. One of my 11 year olds loves it. We have a little cry together Grin

We’re also watching Soul on Disney+ and I’ll be looking out for some of the stuff mentioned here also.

loveyouradvice · 25/12/2020 22:11

Oh Mustard that takes me back... I used to watch it with DD when she was 11 too ... both of us loved it and I thought she was learning lots too - about how people used to live!

Queen's Gambit is absolutely brilliant so if anyone hasn't watched it yet DO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Im looking forward to Motherland too

And have just watched the beginning of the Comic Relief Panto - Cinderella - it's looking rather good so we are settling down to that with pud in 10 mins or so ....

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 26/12/2020 05:55

The BBC two part Oliver Twist is really good.

Footle · 26/12/2020 10:42

@TakeMeToYourLiar , thanks for making me watch the Goes Wrong nativity play!

Footle · 26/12/2020 10:45

@Holothane , tell your phone that it's not Black Narcissist..

BolloxtoGender · 26/12/2020 10:50

We are rewatching Breaking Bad, the best tv series IMHO even after all these years.

Also looking forward to Black Narcissis.

phoenixrosehere · 26/12/2020 11:16

The ultimate Christmas movie, Die Hard and then Arachnophobia. Today, could be anything. May finish Truth Seekers and catch up on Black Mirror.

Winniewonka · 26/12/2020 12:12

Matthew Bourne's ballet - The Red Shoes
Super vet at Christmas
Black Narcissus
The Serpent

Holothane · 26/12/2020 16:59

@Footle if that all you can then sod off, it’s a spelling mistake, that’s 100 lines for me then, I’m on the naughty list for next year already.😢🤦‍♀️😊

LooneyLovefood · 26/12/2020 17:10

Can't believe there are rave reviews for The Nativity Goes Wrong programme - it was utterly dire and got turned off within about 6 minutes here. It was so cringeworthy and I love The Play That Goes Wrong but it just doesn't translate well to tv.

I am excited for The Sewing Bee and Whitehouse & Mortimer. Also have Zog and The Flying Doctors recorded for DS so looking forward to watching that as they're always great adaptations.

Twisique · 26/12/2020 19:13

Motherland, Ghosts, Queens Gambit, Enola Holmes, All Creatures Great and Small (Ch 5), Dr Who at New Year and the Great British Menu.

Hope you liked it :)

Just finished Charlie Brooker's Death to 2020 on Netflix - enjoyed it overall but not as much as his Corona wipe or annual lookbacks. Part of that was the set up (mockumentary) and part of it is that most of this year hasn't been that funny...so fairplay for managing to make me smile at all and a great cast.

Footle · 28/12/2020 08:57

@TakeMeToYourLiar, it was very therapeutic!
