Here we go...another armchair politician...if only you were pm...all would be good in the world🙄

LostaraYil · 23/12/2020 21:19

Another reason to feel embarrassed for the UK.

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 23/12/2020 21:21

I don't think Kunt and the Gang have ever been bothered about lifting spirits or thinking positive, it's absolutely completely typically them. This is no different to everything else they've done and fair play to them, really. They want to make a political statement and this is the way they do it.

TomorrowIsAnotherDae · 23/12/2020 21:36

@Wearywithteens

Because after a shit year we all love a bit of cunting aggression at Christmas eh? Hmm

YABU - it might capture a mood but it does nothing to elevate humanity or give hope.

Absolutely this. I’m despairing of humanity at the moment.
looseddaughter · 23/12/2020 21:50

Johnson has done nothing whatsoever to elevate humanity or bring hope - quite the opposite in fact, and, in his role as political leader, especially at a time like this, that's a dereliction of duty. I do find the song and its popularity uplifting in a way because it suggests other people see things the way I do and that not everyone is taken in by him and that does give me a smidgen of hope for the future. Just a smidgen though.

PrincessNutNutRoast · 23/12/2020 21:56

It shouldn't have been a metal song. They should have found a really smooth-voiced male crooner and done it in proper Matt Monro style.

Anewuser · 23/12/2020 22:09

Not as funny as this one

CaptainSandy · 23/12/2020 22:13

You don't need to star out cunt, you can just type it out.

Lemmeout · 23/12/2020 22:17

How embarrassing! It’s dreadfully juvenile and not remotely amusing. I am no fan of Bojo either.

LakieLady · 23/12/2020 22:18

@allthewaterinthetap

Would have preferred Cliff Richard singing it.
That would be hilarious!
PrincessNutNutRoast · 23/12/2020 22:19

It's not supposed to be clever and witty. That's the point. It's from the "I will show my contempt by making no effort, lowering the tone around you and producing something as crap as you are" school of attack.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 23/12/2020 22:25

You probably need to be familiar with his other work to appreciate this (his live act was very funny imo) but if nothing else this is a welcome contrast to Robbie Williams awful attempt!

ExeterMummaMia · 23/12/2020 22:40

I'm not a Boris fan... mainly because I'm not a Tory fan! But even so, this just seems totally unnecessary to me.

Yes, UK Gov have made a mess of the covid response. However, with family living in a handful of EU countries they are all saying the same thing about their own governments and leaders. I think this is one of those absolute shitstorms that couldn't have been handled well regardless of who was at helm. I totally accept that it could have been handled better but I don't think it would have been hugely successful either

The song to me is just depressing and negative. I get enough of that from watching the daily briefings thanks.

edenhills · 23/12/2020 22:49

Apparently it's at number 6 so could win!

Hazelmazel · 23/12/2020 22:56

This song is from last year so not based on the terrible handling of this year - still relevant though. And incredibly catchy.

Haffiana · 23/12/2020 23:04

Truly heartfelt and excellent song. Really catches the sentiments of our proud Nation at this time as we come together to embrace our Sovereignty.

Schoolkids will all be singing it non-stop next term in the playgrounds, bless 'em!
