I’ve really missed going into the city, seeing the lights, the Christmas market, grabbing a spot next to a space heater drinking mulled wine - and being with friends.

What about you?

Annual trip to Manchester Christmas Market/Manchester shops. We all go, me, DH, 2 x adult DS’s + 1 x GF and have a lovely time browsing, buying, eating and drinking.

I missed panto and seeing the lights at Kew Gardens. Also, hot chocolate in NT cafes after a nice walk. I wish my sister and her family could visit and stay over for the 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year (our turn to host). On the plus side, I’m happy to be avoiding my inlaws yay 👏😂

Sitting by the open fire in the Dolphin whilst the assorted fishermen roll in and talk utter nonsense, usually ending up with an impromptu singalong by the end of the night.

Sitting in the garden on Christmas Eve, wrapped in an ancient blanket watching a billion stars once the village streetlights go out at midnight.

Being up before sunrise and listening to the Robin sing louder to be heard over the sound of the leat as the sun approaches the horizon.

Rolling down to the Leapy for drinks and not coming back for hours.

Being in Church for all of the usual advent activities such as carol services and Sunday school nativity.
The community carol service and lighting up of the Christmas tree with the school choir / Salvation Army Band.
Taking a tray of freshly baked mince pies into my sons special school the school for the staff on concert day.........and the concert!

My parents. They Iive 20 mins away but we're tier 4 so can't mix. I'm gutted at not being able to see them and my heart is broken for all the people on here (and everywhere of course) who have lost family during this horrible year.

And I miss the lighthearted-ness of everything. I spend my days in tears and I hate it. I don't want to be scared anymore.
