Is it safe to go to a& e if you’re in tier 4 and the hospital is full of Covid patients? I’m panicking here.

WTF no carers ? That’s ridiculous. They absolutely should be allowing someone trusted to accompany her I’m so sorry op

needabus · 22/12/2020 22:41

Will they assign her a healthcare assistant maybe so she has the correct support

Bunnybigears · 22/12/2020 22:43

How old is DD?

MaggieFS · 22/12/2020 22:43

Giving you a handhold OP. I assume your DD is an adult? It's better for DH to stay out if he's also vulnerable. Hospitals are being really careful about covid precautions now.

timetest · 22/12/2020 22:46

She’s an adult, however she finds it’s physically difficult to speak and this means she won’t get pain relief as she can’t ask for it. She has vascular EDS hence the dislocations and the wheelchair.

OP posts:
needabus · 22/12/2020 22:47

That’s awful she’s not been allowed anyone with her

timetest · 22/12/2020 22:47

DH is vulnerable due to his age.

Yeah they won't let vulnerable people in even as a carer in my experience.

A dislocated jaw though here is a resus situation (well every time I have dislocated mine it has been relocated in resus) so shouldn't be too long for her.

Haenow · 23/12/2020 00:02

As a vulnerable person, she should really be allowed someone. :( That said, I’ve seen some hospitals specify only people with complex needs like advanced dementia or severe learning disabilities are allowed carers.
