Aibu to kill my partner due to his snoring and claim it was self defence? It would be to defend my poor ears. It is worse than ever tonight. I started to move to the sofa but the wood floor in the hallway was too cold so I came back.

Has he been to doctor about snoring? Is it due to sleep position? Does he drink too much or overweight?(Not expecting answers but these are things to look at.)

Aquamarine1029 · 22/12/2020 00:41

I'll bring my shovel.

smalalalalalala · 22/12/2020 01:11

I can hear mine right now. He's in the bedroom, I'm in the living room. 1 door, 1 hall in between

AbbieLexie · 22/12/2020 01:14

We put a salt lamp - medium sized - in our bedroom and the side effect has been DP's snoring has ceased. And the dog's! I wear an eye mask as the room is too bright.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/12/2020 01:16

AbbieLexie is that what salt lamps are for?! I just thought they were pretty lamps!

OzziePopPop · 22/12/2020 01:28

Our ducks would love a bigger pond, I’m sure we’d have room for him under there if you can help dig? 😂🐣😂🐣

They're for whatever the salesman thinks you'll believe

Same questions I was wondering about.
OutComeTheWolves · 22/12/2020 05:10

Honestly I'd give you an alibi.

Sobeyondthehills · 22/12/2020 05:19

I will kill yours if you will kill mine

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/12/2020 05:48

Separate bedrooms perhaps?

ChazP · 22/12/2020 07:59

Total sympathy here! We’ve finally got a spare room thanks to finishing off a loft conversion. I spend so many nights traipsing into it at 1am that I’m considering just moving in (except I paid for the loft conversion so I feel like I ought to stay put and kick him out!)

userxx · 22/12/2020 08:03

Ear defenders are what you need.

MyOwnSummer · 22/12/2020 08:16

If he's a deep sleeper, you can roll him into the recovery position and wedge with pillows?

ivfbeenbusy · 22/12/2020 08:23

If it was that bad then a few seconds walking over cold wooden floor is a small price to pay surely?

RosesforMama · 22/12/2020 08:24

Wedging my DH with pillows has totally cured his awful snoring. He has 7 pillows.

Yes, but the cops will probably be suspicious if you use that many at once.

My husband has been banished to another room until he sorts his snoring (and other breathing issues). So far it's been 3 years. His choice.

Ginfordinner · 22/12/2020 08:31

If his snoring is that bad he probably has sleep apnoea as well. He absolutely must address the issue. People joke about snoring, but it has serious health implications, and doctors now take it very seriously.

DH's snoring got worse and worse and developed into sleep apnoea that was so bad that the consultant said it was the worst he had ever seen. DH had a silent stroke, which they think was caused by the sleep apnoea, so please don't ignore it.

He now has a CPAP machine, and I now get a decent night's sleep, as does he.

IsAnybodyListening · 22/12/2020 08:36

I feel you. I am feeling done in this AM because of DP's snoring. I am WFH and should have logged in 30mins ago. He on the other hand has 3 wks annual leave and was snoring ALL night. Think I drifted off at 3ish, then just kept waking up, finally gave up at 7am.

No real suggestions OP. I posted a similar thread before under a different name. He did buy some type of nasal spray at one point from Amazon, and that did help a bit.

TheRealHousewife · 22/12/2020 08:39

Hi @Chanandlerbong01 if you’re husband has no other breathing issues get him to use micropore tape ... a 4cm piece placed vertically over the centre of his lips. Encourages nose breathing. You can’t feel it once in place. Micropore tape costs about a £1 at the chemist or Amazon.

TheRealHousewife · 22/12/2020 08:41

I personally use a slimmer tape than in this photo ... 1cm wide by 4cm piece.

The floor is all the way through to the living room and it made me think the living room would be freezing too.

I tried a new approach of being really annoying until he got up and slept elsewhere. In the space of 5 minutes I coughed 5,395,264 times, had 27 drinks using a metal straw in a metal bottle, hugged him on and off by putting all of my body weight on him, went to the toilet, brushed my teeth again and kept “hearing weird noises” that required us both to look out of the window. He muttered something about being exhausted and took the spare duvet to the sofa.

I don’t want to brag but I’m still in bed and he’s just messaged asking if I’m awake and do I want a bacon sandwich bringing up.
