2 year sick for no reason

My DS is 2 on Christmas and for the past 2 weeks he has been sporadically spitting up/vomiting everyday. He has no fever, diarrhoea and is his usual happy and busy self. He has a great appetite and is still drinking lots. He can be sitting, running or walking and he is still being sick, it is not Full vomiting, more like spitting up. He hasn't brought up a full meal as such. I've taken him to my GP who gave him gaviscon however it hasn't made a difference. It doesn't seem to be after any food in particular. He has a very varied diet and there hasn't been a pattern that I've notice. Im really worried and just want to know of anyone has any advice or experienced anything similar.

My niece has cyclical vomiting syndrome - is often sick for no reason but not generally every day.

Have you noticed any recent clumsiness or lack of balance? Has he reported any headaches, particularly in a morning?

KBelvs2 · 21/12/2020 01:06

Hes generally a clumsy boy. But more in the way of just running into things as he doesn't look where he is going. Hes not really got the vocabulary to tell me he has a sore head but he doesn't seem to experiencing headaches. I read about the cvs however he doesn't seem to have a sore stomach and as this is the first time I don't know if this is an episode however its more than the usual 10 days for and episode

I find this really hard to post as I know it is going to terrify people but this only comes from a desire for parents to seek early diagnosis.

My DS had a brain tumour, diagnosed when he was 8. The first symptom was random vomiting. It came from nowhere. Not from any specific food or anything. And after being sick he would ask for cheese and onion crisps or a Mars bar. It made no sense.

The second symptom was clumsiness. He could trip up on a pin on the floor. He bumped into everything.

The third symptom was a headache every morning. He missed many days of school because he felt so ill every morning.

Once he was diagnosed, his treatment was fantastic. I cannot fault it. He's 33, well and happy.

If the gaviscon isn't working go back to the GP. Asking for random diagnoses on the internet is hardly helpful!

A 2yo is allowed to be clumsy
Try to cut out diary for a bit op and seenid that makes a difference x

Oh give over.

She specifically asked for other parents experience.
And a parenting forum is an excellent place to ask that. And she has seen her GP, she's doing all the right things.

Post something helpful.

NoMansAnIsland · 21/12/2020 06:32

OP my only suggestion would be that he may have developed an intolerance to something.

But I feel like that would be unlikely.
Could you keep a diary to see if it happens more after particular foods like yoghurt?

Anxiety? Excitement? I know he’s only little but if he has people constantly telling him ‘it’s your birthday soon!’ Or ‘Santa’s coming soon!’ maybe that’s getting him excited/anxious?

My foster son used to be sick a lot. I was convinced it had to be something physical. Doctors were convinced psychological. No physical issue was found. In the end he started to turn it to his advantage and could be sick when he wanted. Once the school were on board and happy for me to bring him back the next day as long as I was as sure as I could be he wasn’t ill it pretty much stopped. He was a bit older though so I don’t think a 2 year old could do it to his advantage but if he’s feeling a bit overwhelmed it could be causing it maybe?

@AmyandPhilipfan I've just had a second baby 3 months ago do you think he could be doing it because of the change up?

@TheMenopausalPinkHairedWitch thank you for your advice. Im happy your son is well. He seems completely fine in all other ways. In the morning is his most pleasant time actually 🤣 I will keep on eye on him for any changes but I think I will go back to the GP anyways
