To make this Christmas Cake on Tuesday?

...excuse the stupid question.

I am a novice home-baker, gradually adding to my repertoire. But I have lots and lots left to learn.
I have never made a Christmas Cake before, as the traditional fruit cake doesn't appeal hugely. I have just seen this recipe, which sounds lovely, but I am not sure if it's too late now to make it this year?
The earliest I will be able to bake it now is Tuesday.

Will it taste nice made and eaten when relatively fresh, or is the time it is wrapped and put away important for the taste (it doesn't require additonal feeding with brandy like a more traditional cake)? Can any more seasoned bakers advise please?

YABU - you have left it too late, be more organised next year!

YANBU - preheat the oven and get mixing!

Well, if you made 2 you could eat one now, and eat another in 6 weeks. That will tell you if the cake benifits from storage or not!
