AIBU to think that school staff may finally get PPE?

On Sky news this morning the government spokesman was very clear that teachers will not be expected to administer the tests on pupils.

He was sure there would be volunteers in the community who would come forward and also some agency staff. He hopes parents might step up.

The interviewer asked why on earth anyone would volunteer to go into the "Covid infested" schools. The minister said they would be given full PPE.

Bearing that in mind - if the volunteers needs PPE when dealing with the students at close quarters then surely it should be provided for the staff working with them day in and day out as well, shouldn't it? Will that be happening next term?

Or will they be thrown under a bus again?

Teaching in PPE would be all but impossible. I’ve tried speaking to a class in a visor or facemask, and neither allow sound to travel enough to be heard by a roomful of students. In order to actually teach anything, I have had to do away with both.

Have you tried using a radio mic?

Do you feel you are safe in your classroom?
