Support bubble

So I've got a 10 week old baby & a 4 year old, current COVID guidelines say I am allowed a support bubble due to having a baby under the age of 1. My mum, due to being worried about herself or my dad catching COVID has been unwilling to come into the house etc and be my support. I suppose I'm just feeling upset that seeing her grandchildren and supporting her daughter isn't coming first although I do understand the seriousness of COVID at the same time Sad I think I'd be more accepting of her decision if she wasn't still going to shops, working & has once ( a couple of weeks ago) asked me for a lift so she could meet a friend outside (my mum doesn't drive).
Am I just over-reacting?

I don't think you're over reacting at all. At first I thought her actions seemed reasonable until I read the bit about asking for a lift. Seems she's using the current situation to suit herself. Has she always been this distant?

I definitely agree it feels like she is suiting herself. During non COVID times I wouldn't say she was distant and was quite involved, saying that we've not always got along famously but of course I want her to have a relationship with her grandchildren.

I think I'm disheartened as I feel as though she doesn't want to be my support during a vulnerable time in my life, pandemic or no pandemic I feel like I would make sure I supported my daughters if they were ever (let's hope not) in this situation in 30 odd years time.

No you are not over reacting! Bubble with someone else and no more lifts for her!!!
