To think that the over 80’s Covid Vaccine is slow to materialise?

I phoned the GP who signposted me to the local health board who signposted me to the GP again. No one seemed to know anything about a vaccination programme. I have emailed the local government and had a reply to thank me for my email that will usually be responded to in 15 days! Anyone in South Wales Aneurin Bevan area know what is going on with regards to this?

well I managed to get some second hand, but should be reliable information for the OP. Nurses are going into care homes next week to vaccinate in South Wales. Not entirely sure it's the same health board as it's not that nurses normal job and I didnt speak to them directly. They have been vaccinated recently but it wont be having much effect yet, I hope this doesnt mean more nurses picking up covid in the care homes and even fewer staff around.

Tony Blair is saying as a matter of urgency, give as many people as possible one jab instead of keeping the second dose back.

Blair is wrong - the vaccine has not been approved for single shot use, and so would require new approval. And if they've not trialled it in a single shot basis then you're looking at substantial delay.

Also Blair's premise is that the jab is being given to stop the spread. It i is not, it is being given to protect the vulnerable, because covering the priority groups already decided will prevent over 90% of deaths and so very many hospitalisations. Giving the chance that the NHS can start provide more services, and restrictions can perhaps be eased.

It's a shame we didn't know how muddled his thinking is back in about 1995

They didn't even test a single shot.
