Feeling paranoid-is this what he watches?

Used my mobile in the house to see Pornhub, just out of interest really as I’m never in the mood since Dd came along.
I noticed it said ‘Recommended for you’ with a load of videos. I’ve been back on it a few times and is always the same type of videos, not something I’d watch, not really terrible but also I don’t like it. This is my phone but obviously we have the home WiFi set up.
Are these random recommendations it gives you? Or has it picked up on things my dp has watched on his phone? Is it able to do that?
Probably being a bit paranoid! Just curious why it always shows similar ‘Topics’ 🙄

@bonjonbovi How do I use incognito? Does that mean it doesn’t come up on history at all? Not sure if he uses that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Could be IP address if you are using wifi or cookies on your phone from other sites on your 'phone informing their algorithm. You could try from a clean phone on mobile network or someone else's computer at their home on a clean profile - should be a fun conversation to frame that request of that friend or family member.

I just checked it for you, it has come up with things I’d watch and have watched on there before, not my DPs favourite genre.

Come to think of it, it never shows what he watches 🤔 and i think it does just show random videos when I haven’t watched for a while, not a specific genre as such

I had a quick look, it defo has alot of step mum did this, step son does this type stuff.

The first page had about 5 different types of videos, I think a PP is correct who said its probably paid advertising - or its just what most people click on first?

To use incognito you just press the 3 dots in the corner of a screen and click it.

How bizarre, it isn’t things I’d even think to look up, if it wasn’t always repeated I wouldn’t think much of it.

I've just gone onto PH and step sibling stuff came up on mine, they must be pushing that category. I used to watch one type on there and the recommendations didn't always follow what I watched.

@Clymene I definitely don’t believe it’s fine. I actually verge on hatred for porn, I stated my reasons for going on initially, finding nothing floats my boat anymore it seems..then getting caught up with admittedly a bit of paranoia about what my dp possibly does or doesn’t watch

I can tell you're uncomfortable with it.

Pornhub had to delete thousands of video recently as they were linked to child pornography/exploitation.

Don't support them by viewing their 'products'.

I am not against porn and I am no prude but we need to make sure that what's available is legal and does no contain any kind of exploitation/abuse.

These type of companies need to clean up their act.

OP I've just gone on it to look, ever once visited the site before, and there's a lot of live videos of women masturbating on bed "recommended" for me I'm straight. I imagine this is what most people go on to look for and they throw it out to random visitors?

Anyone watching pornhub is being v v unreasonable. And the argument that otherwise it would be on the dark web is ridiculous. It's not on the dark web it is out in the open and they are making money out of abuse.

The 'recommended for you' is only going to be guesses at this point so there will be a selection of weird and wonderful things to try to find out what you like. Whetever you then watch, it will suggest more of that genre.

@GlummyMcGlummerson Ah thanks, yes there was a couple of those too but mainly pushing the other stuff, which I find weirder and quite specific! Interesting though to see what the most watched things are though, if that’s the case..grim 🙄

I am slightly confused, you are going on pornhub as you don't fancy being intimate with your DH and no feel paranoid/upset that he may also be on it?
Maybe a wiser option would be to see how you can reconnect with him sexually.

@Cheeseandwin5 No not paranoid that he may be on it, I imagine he probably is at some point or other porn hubs as I imagine the majority of men (and women perhaps) are.
It’s too complicated to try to reconnect, I know you’re right, but I’m too tired at this point and have zero sex drive, hence the interest if there’s anything actually there for me anymore

Up until Nicholas Kristof's NY Times revelations about three days ago Pornhub was FULL of dodgy, unauthorised rape/coercion/underage videos. Unacceptable. It should be shut down completely.
