UC Payment help

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to post, but you have all been helpful in the past,

I currently claim UC as a single mum to 1.

I have just started a new job, when I get paid, I will receive 3 weeks pay, which comes to around £1100 after deductions.
Does anyone know if I would still be entitled to any UC benefits please? I have more going out than what I will have coming in.

On a normal month I think I will be coming out with around £1300

Thanks in advance for any help.

www.uceplus.co.uk/

This is the link to the groups website @Blubellsarebells mentioned, you can use their format to work out your payment then join the Facebook group and someone will check through it for you.

The single person (25+) standard allowance is £409.89 a month, child element is £281.25 if born before 6/4/2017, or £235.83 thereafter, plus housing element for however much you pay in rent or the LHA rate. Your work allowance is £292, so any pound you earn above that will reduce your UC payment by 63p.

So your universal credit will give you a maximum allowance which will be made up of a single person allowance, a rental allowance (dependant on your local authority rate for housing) and then a child allowance. This gives you your total maximum entitlement. Then your earnings get deducted. You get approximately £300 reduction from your bring home. Then they deduct 67p for every £1 after that.
So example.

Your single allowance £300
Housing allowance £800
Child allowance £300

Maximum entitlement is £1400.

Your earnings £1100
Take away £300

Brings total earnings to £800. Times that by 0.67 to get what they deduct From your maximum entitlement = £536

So UC entitlement is £1400 - £536 = £864

Just using rough examples

It might be 63p for every £1 actually but you get the general gist
