I got a lump in my bum

So sorry to post here, I have terrible health anxiety and my GP surgery are not taking non emergency appointments and I wondered if anyone has experienced this.

I’ve never had any problems down there but in the shower earlier I noticed a small lump (pea sized) just inside my anus. It’s painful to touch but otherwise I wouldn’t know it was there.

I’ve had a look in the mirror and can see it’s just normal skin colour- I’m thinking it’s not a haemorrhoid as aren’t they blood vessels therefore wouldn’t they be a different colour?

No other symptoms- normal bowel movements and stools. Does anyone else have this?

It’s likely just a pile, they are just pink/skin coloured. Pop some annusol on it and it’ll bugger off

Could just be a skin tag

Piles they don't have to bleed, only when you strain too much and constipated. Just get some pile cream if sore.

You can try anusol, but book appointment with gp if it does not go away or if you have any other symptoms (eg bleeding, change in bowel habit, weight loss or problems that run in family).

I used Anusol suppositories and cream to help get rid of mine. You can pick it up from your local pharmacy without a prescription.

Thank you I will get some Anusol and hope for the best

It could be a haematoma (blood clot). I had one 8 years ago. It was v. painful and sitting down was uncomfortable. I thought it was piles. My GP referred me to gastroenterology who diagnosed a blood clot and offered to drain it under general anaesthetic. I didn't go ahead with surgery because of the inconvenience, and the lump cleared up on it's own after a couple of weeks.
