Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Apologies for the graphic picture, also admin please remove if this goes against the rules.

For my past 5 periods, I’ve been getting blood clots. Today, I felt something passing through my vagina and went to the toilet and there was a large blood clot on my sanitary pad (photo attached!), previous to this I passed another clot whilst urinating. The clot is quite big and thick in size and I’m concerned there is a problem and whether this is something I should see a doctor about sharpish, or whether this is relatively normal?

There is no chance of pregnancy (husband had had a vasectomy!)

This is just making me quite anxious and concerned!

TIA for any replies and apologies again for the graphic nature!

I suggest you speak to your GP and edit the title of your post to warn others of graphic content :)

Lipz · 15/12/2020 15:59

You need to put a warning in your title oh and defo see your gp

MaMaD1990 · 15/12/2020 16:00

The GP should be your first call, not MN!

Mischance · 15/12/2020 16:00

My periods were all like that - big clots for 10 days or more. But if this is something out of the ordinary for you then speak to GP.

WorriedPeriodClot · 15/12/2020 16:02

I don’t know how to edit the title!
I am waiting for a call from the doctor but I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything similar!

Jesus fucking Christ!

I am peri menopausal and often pass large clots 3-4 inches long. I was once told that 'so long as it's no bigger than the palm of your hand, you'll be fine'

Disclaimer - I am not a doctor! Please speak to your GP if you're worried.

vanillandhoney · 15/12/2020 16:20

Do you really think posting that without a warning is appropriate?

Go and see your GP if it's new or unusual for you.

firesong · 15/12/2020 16:37

I can't see a picture, but it sounds like large clots?

I usually only have very small ones. After my second pregnancy I had some massive ones, I was very alarmed. The midwife said to go to hospital if they were larger than a DINNER PLATE Shock

Anything out of the ordinary ought to be checked in my opinion - mainly for your peace of mind.

firesong · 15/12/2020 16:39

A quick google suggests fibroids.

This isn't the right place for this
