West Midlands Boiler company

AIBU

So in November 2018, we had a new boiler fitted throught west midlands boiler company, they originally said the boiler would have to be moved from under the stairs to the kitchen as the pipe work did not comply with new standards, they said they would put the pipework around the outside of the house otherwise all the floors would have to come up. We weren’t thrilled about gas pipes all around the house but it couldn’t be helped.

So the has engineer came to fit the boiler and he decided he was going to get down into the cellar and change the pipework rather than put new pipes around the house, boiler was fitted and off he went.

Fast foward 6 months I get call from said company advising that they need to inspect the boiler as they have recieved complaints about the fitters work, when they arrived they found the waste pipe had not been connected to anything and was just dripping down into the cellar.

They sent out another contractor who had the bright idea to fit a pump to push out the waste from the boiler, when he showed me his handy work, there was black pipes up the entire side of the house (victorian house so quite tall) And connected to the guttering, I asked how the waste was going to get all the way to the top he said the pump was very powerful, the next day said pipework started leaking so out they come again and and new subcontractor advised that there is no way the wayer could get all the way up to the top of the house so down came all over the pipework and was re-routed about 20ft around the side of the house. When they the did this they damaged a substantial amount of brick work which they refused to take responsibility for due the age of the house.

Now all power has gone to the boiler, an electrician later and it turns out it hasn’t been connected to the electrics properly.

They are refusing to take any responsibility for any of the problems and are making out I am over reacting.

What do you think?

I would invoice them for any repairs you have done as you'll need a boiler in this cold weather.
Are they a registered company? Did they guarantee the work at all?

@Sh05 my complaint for this morning has bounced over to another company, turns out ‘midlands boiler company’ are no longer trading...GREAT.

Typo in the title is should be ‘midlands boiler company’ and not west midlands

Oh dear, maybe if you have legal cover on your home insurance? I know that's not always the best option but you could give it a try

@Sh05 we got somebody around to fix the electrical problem, wasn’t cheap! But probs not worth claiming on the insurance. Just annoying how many problems we’ve had with it in such a sort space of time
