MLM mother at school gates

I’ve politely declined the overpriced MLM stuff one of the school mums sells. All the other mums buy it, i used to just say hello and have a chat before picking up dcs but now the whole lot of these people seem to be avoiding me. MLM mother doesn’t even look at me, let alone say hello.

AIBU to think this is weird behaviour? I’m a regular poster on here but nc as I don’t want to be recognised.

When people are recruited into MLMs aren’t they often told that friends/aquaintances who aren’t interested in their products are ‘haters’ who won’t support their ‘business’ or something like that? Maybe not that extreme but I believe they can really brainwash people and lots lose friends.

God I knew someone like that. It was bloody awful, she'd try to become best friends with everyone only to sell them overpriced skin care crap. She'd also post all over Facebook about the luxury car she was going to buy or exclusive boarding school she was going to send her kids to once her 'business' took off. (I can't quite imagine how anyone could believe she was going to earn the required £200k a year by selling face creams at the school gate).

They don't seem worth bothering with.

I think if the Huns don’t want to be friends with you, you must be doing something right!

Nicolastuffedone · 15/12/2020 14:05

There’s a YouTuber who sells FM perfume.....when told it was a pyramid scheme, she said all businesses are pyramid schemes.......and gave Asda as an example 🤷‍♀️

OhCaptain · 15/12/2020 14:05

Take it as a compliment. You're not gullible enough to be sucked into her cult so not worth her time.

MLM huns don't have friends they have clients or potential clients. Nobody is safe.

Not at all the same thing as a polite invitation to a night out though. Hmm

Sorry OP. It is like a weird cult. We currently have a whole group of women recruited by the original trying to sell their wares. 8 just dont get it!!!

slipperywhensparticus · 15/12/2020 21:54

My school is the centre of a bodyshop explosion they are a group now one woman has quit her job as she is earning the same as her job with bodyshop my concern is when lockdown really ends people will go to the shops and buy again and she will have to go back to work its successful as everyone is at home! Others in the group have diversified into juiceplus (lockdown weight loss) and some kind of scents thing? (While your working from home make sure your home smells beautiful!) So three mlm in one we have the daily shake upload the unboxing uploads the smell my wax melts uploads

I have quietly unfollowed
