Those who sell on marketplace

AIBU to ask you what sells best? I'm trying to raise some surplus cash this week to buy a few extra stocking fillers for the family and I have plenty of stuff I could sell but not sure what actually sells best. Clothes? shoes? CDs? Homewares? Books? Toys? Pictures? Crockery? I'm a bit of a hoarder so don't know where to start.

If you sell any furniture don't forget to put the dimensions in the description unlike 90% of marketplace sellers. Drives me mad!

Make sure you label things correctly using the type of words people would use to search, so: brand, description, size.

Furniture sells well as does electrical stuff eg microwaves, lamps.

Be honest about any defects and price accordingly but most people don't want something that's broken or damaged even if it "doesn't affect use" so its best to sell really good quality stuff.

Toys sell well as long as they are priced well.

If you have kids clothes make them into smallish bundles for age and season and make it look like a bargain. People love to kit their kid out in one go.

People shop on marketplace if they want something cheap and easy. So make it straightforward for them. Offer delivery if you really want to get shot of stuff eg larger items.

Thanks very much - taking all this on board!
