If so, are there any areas/streets to avoid? Any you’d recommend for a young family? Any school recommendations?
We’re thinking of relocating there next year but haven’t got a clue about the area.
Any advice would be appreciated!

I have a friend who lives in Hinckley and I don't think that any area is particularly bad. She has lived in a couple of different parts of the town and its has all seemed nice. Not sure about schools though.

Depends if you have children and their ages. None of the high schools are great but catchment areas seem to be massive so you can basically chose any one of them. All of the primary schools are ok.

I've lived here for over 50 years. There are no 'bad' areas really. There are a few streets that are less desirable but they are surrounded by streets that are.

If I had to say areas I wouldn't want to live in I'd say Wykin estate (used to be dreadful - not anymore. Good sized houses on good plots - a bit shabby), William Iliffe street/ strathmore road (a bit shabby - all semi detached, ex local or current local authority housing) and Tudor road (as above) all of these roads though are attached to roads that are pretty desirable and none have high crime or anti social behaviour (as far as I'm aware - I don't spend much time hanging out on the streets at night!)
I can't be as specific with burbage - pricier than Hinckley. Old burbage is much nicer than the rest.

Hope that helps Smile

I have a relative who lives in Hinckley, in a street near to Tudor Road - as the poster above mentioned.

You don’t say how old the child/ren you are referring to are, but the primary schools are pretty good in Hinckley. As the above poster said, there are no secondary schools that are known to stand out, but nor are they bad either. My relative’s daughter goes to Richmond Primary school in Hinckley SVT has always been happy with it.

I don’t know much about Burbage, except that the houses are generally nicer, bigger and more expensive Grin

Thanks everyone. It would be primary schools we’d be applying for so I’m thinking either Westfield or burbage infants?
We’re planning on renting first so we can secure jobs and suss out the area but will need to be within the schools catchment area.

Hinckley Parks is supposed to be an amazing primary school - I’m actually thinking of moving my child over to there - so that might also be another school to consider.

MayhapsIAm · 14/12/2020 15:13

Westfield infant and juniors are separate schools (infants outstanding - juniors good) - don't know much about burbage infants. I'd suggest checking out their websites - ultimately though as all the primary's are pretty good

MoxyRio · 15/12/2020 04:27

@MayhapsIAm I didn’t know that thanks, I’m guessing the other primary schools in the area go from age 4-11 then?
