Three bottles of gin

So, major supermarket delivery fail here. Place marked my delivery with three bottles of gin and missed the deadline for making changes. Tomorrow I will get three bottles of gin and no food.

Aibu to keep the lot?

Gin suggestions gratefully received. Don't usually drink a lot of gin because it is delicious and the temptation to go overboard is quite strong.

Also, how do I look the delivery guy in the eye with my not so healthy shop?

I did this with Tesco, 6 bananas in my basket.

Phoned them first thing in the morning and was able to cancel. The woman on the phone was so lovely about it, wasn't an issue at all.

A few months ago my husband had the fun job of picking up 'placeholder shopping'. Total random rubbish that wouldn't make one meal and there was so little it was less than £25 so Tesco charged me £6.50 for the privilege. The 'click and collect' guy just laughed, said it happens all the time.

I had three bottles of mediocre champagne turn up tonight. At least it's Christmas soon.

I placehold my Asda shop with the previous weeks order. I should update while watching strictly on a Saturday night but two weeks in a row I forgot meaning that over a three week period I received 15 aubergines. It was a dark dark time. Enjoy the gin!

Your mistake was posting here. Now you will have lots of sensible suggestions for cancelling/changing the order when we both know you dont really want to do that do you?

I dont know why, but six bananas in my basket feels like it should be a song...

This is exactly why we now have a bottle of 20 year old Talisker!

Dominoz · 13/12/2020 22:02

This really made me laugh! Merry Christmas OP!

Remember to get tonic when you do your next order.

hartof · 13/12/2020 22:08

Oh no I did this back in original lockdown. I felt so guilty sending the driver away with them! But I wasn't about to keep £60 worth of gin 😂

helloxhristmas · 13/12/2020 22:19

I've done it before, six bottles of Sancerre. I kept it.

mothersruinonspeed · 13/12/2020 22:31

You are all right. Secretly delighted at doing something so reckless. Even if it was a mistake. Keeping it (and have a proper, I.e. 1part gin 2 part tonic) in anticipation.

Off now, sensibly, to bed at a sensible hour, to retire to my usual, sensible. Username in the morning.

Smile

Well, it's not like it'll go off.
Or maybe you see it as a challenge.
