Sorry to burst your bubble, @AriestheRam. Loving the sound of your wedding cocktail though!😍

A couple of people I used to work with in a bar in 1996/97 loved Hooch, a couple of shots of vodka and lager, all mixed together in a pint glass. Too hardcore for me, and I'm partial to the odd Snakebite (it's the only way I can stomach most lager!)

cricketmum84 · 13/12/2020 11:14

Tia Maria or any coffee liqueur really with fresh orange. It tastes like chocolate orange somehow??

cricketmum84 · 13/12/2020 11:17

Ah @BrandySours just seen you beat me to it!

Oneeata · 13/12/2020 12:05

Turbo Shandy - half a lager in pint glass topped up with a Smirnoff Ice bloody lovely... nice and refreshing

Iamaweirdone · 13/12/2020 12:13

Tequila and champagne

Iamaweirdone · 13/12/2020 12:13

Sloe gin and Prosecco is lovely

Notadramallama · 13/12/2020 12:24

Malibu and Bailey's - just lovely

Frouby · 13/12/2020 12:36

Baileys and tia maria, over ice is amazing. Its our staple Christmas drink. We had to replace them both this week on the shop because we have spent a few nights checking the bottle of tia maria that was already opened was still OK.

I'm not dead yet so assume so.

@DelphineWalsh

Amaretto, coke and lager tastes just like Dr Pepper.

Amaretto and jack daniels on ice.

Along these lines - a Godfather is a great winter drink; Amaretto and whisky.
BarryTheChopper · 13/12/2020 12:48

Whisky Mac- 1 shot of whisky to 2 shots of green ginger wine.

It’s my favourite winter drink.

CremeEggThief · 13/12/2020 14:30

Whisky Mac- another blast from the past there!

BashfulClam · 13/12/2020 14:38

Vodka, any flavour of sours (apple tastes like green ice poles) and lemonade!

BrandySours · 13/12/2020 14:55

@cricketmum84 - it's gorge!! 😍
Used to call it 'Orange Smarties' as well back in the day 😂

Sarahplane · 13/12/2020 21:44

we used to call that a super diesel. I want one now.

Sarahplane · 13/12/2020 21:47

Morgans and coke with a head of Guinness. We used to call it a blackbeard.

cricketmum84 · 14/12/2020 08:33

@CrazyToast I once got so wasted on diesel that my friends had to prop me up on a pinball machine (in the local goth bar) and I tried to climb a cherry picker.

Obv a long time ago - I'm a respectable mother now who sips at gin and tonic 😂

SatsumaFan · 16/12/2020 21:41

Dark spiced rum, amaretto and ice.

Baileys and amaretto at Christmas.

Kahlua, baileys, ice and milk (white russian)

Flavoured gin liqueurs as a prosecco topper are nice too.

Mmmm.... Alcohol...

CCSA · 16/12/2020 22:24

Pickle backs are awesome - shot of bourbon washed down with a shot of pickle brine.

Ice cold (full fat) coke and red wine for a kalimoxto on a balmy Spanish evening works very nicely. Must try the turbo version sometime.

Eminybob · 16/12/2020 23:39

Southern comfort, lime and lemonade.
About 20 years ago I lived in Dublin and all the lemonade on tap in pubs was red (is this still the case? Not been to Ireland in years) and made the above taste just like jelly babies.

Silverstreaks · 17/12/2020 08:32

Rum and chocolate milk = Rum Lorenzo

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 17/12/2020 08:40

Ginjinha (Portuguese cherry liqueur with cherries in the bottom), with amaretto over ice. Like an alcoholic Bakewell

daisy2609 · 17/12/2020 08:44

Amaretto with a shot or two of cherry sourz and coke. Yummy!

Jinglingandnotmingling · 17/12/2020 08:45

I’ve never had Advocaat, but this Christmas will be getting some - fancy it with Prosecco!
Is it wrong that after reading this I’m now craving Baileys and Tia Maria?!

wowfudge · 17/12/2020 08:49

Calimocho is revolting imo - drank plenty of it as a student in Spain.

A classic champagne cocktail is a sugar cube with a few drops of bitters in the glass, add brandy and top up with champagne.

Lots of fruit flavoured liqueurs work well with sparkling wines - kir royale is cassis with champagne. Homemade flavoured gins and vodkas are good too. We had a redcurrant gin one year.

TeapotCollection · 17/12/2020 08:53

Pernod, cider and orange squash
