Nasal Polyp

Hi, I am allergic to dust mites and take fexofenadine tablets and dymsta spray whenever it flares up (atleast once a week). I always seem to have a stuffy and runny nose and a while ago I had what looked like a polyp in one nostril and forgot all about it. Recently I noticed in the opposite nostril I have a scab, it hasn’t healed after months as I keep picking it. I was having a look at it today and noticed the polyp looked a lot bigger.
I plan on calling my GP on Monday, however Dr Google states that the first thing they will do is prescribe a steroid nasal spray to see if it gets rid of it, if that doesn’t work then it’s surgery for removal.
My question is, my dymsta spray has steroid in it, so would my GP just go straight to the removal route?

No-one here can tell you, you'd be best just to wait until your GP appointment.

I get that, I was looking for people who may have being in a similar position. Thanks

I don't know if they would go straight to the removal, however I am currently using nasal sprays daily for post nasal drip and suspected polyps. I tried one spray for a few months and now I'm on dymista (which tastes horrible!!). I am to use dymista twice a day and if it hasn't improved things by new year I will be referred to ENT.

I’ve being on Dymsta for a few years now and the taste is gross, needs must unfortunately. When my allergy is bad, the only relief I get is to put rolled up tissue in each nostril, I’m positive my nostrils have increased in size due to this

They'll use steroids first to see if it shrinks and clears up, If it doesnt you'll be referred to an ENT
