Is it *really* so much to ask?

I am so pissed off. I've had a Christmas delivery slot booked with Asda for weeks now. Found out last week we have to move 5 days before the delivery is due or we'll lose the house sale. We're moving a few streets away to an area that is covered by the same store but Asda won't let me change the delivery address. They say I need to cancel the order and rebook but there are no slots available at all. I care for my clinically vulnerable parents and can't risk going to the shop to get our Christmas stuff so my only option appears to be to stand outside my old house for a few hours waiting for delivery and then lug the lot home. Is it really too big an ask, with more than a week of notice?
Grr sorry to vent but grr.

Does seem a bit silly of them! I've got a funny visual of you pacing about in front of your old house waiting for deliveries! Do you have any means of explaining to the new occupiers? Ask them to have it put in the garden/drive and give you a call?

Ooh it's worth an ask, hadn't thought of that. I can get all the non perishables this coming week but I don't fancy tucking in to 12 day old veg for Christmas lunch (and I won't be able to get my special 'food to order' main either wah). Bah humbug, Asda Xmas Angry

Have you emailed this to someone higher up?

As you say, it doesn't seem too much to ask and I suppose they don't want people hogging all the delivery slots and then possibly selling them on when they all run out, so they have to stop people from doing that, but in your case, you can probably back up your request with documentation and they could be able to sort it if they wanted to.

After all, they shouldn't want to piss off a customer who could probably equally get their shopping from Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys etc.

I've only 'spoken' to the twitter team, I hadn't thought of emailing someone at Asda. I'm going to give that a go. Thank you Smile

I've just sent an email to the CEO of Asda. I do hope they can help. Thanks for the ideas folks.
