To keep dd x 2 out of Creche?

Tuesday evening Creche said dd's had a cough and we would need to monitor it over day 48 hours but not to be surprised if I got a call to collect on Wednesday.

Spoke to the gp who said based on the symptoms (cough only, wet... no other symptoms) they felt a covid test was not required, the recommendation was to self isolate and wait 48 hours. I pushed and got the test (I would never live with myself if they infected someone) on Wednesday, negative result in less than 24 hours and a follow up with the gp on Thursday who said there was no infection.

As dd2 is probably a mild asthmatic she gave a prescription for antibiotics. Which I could cash in if needed, gp explained small children deteriorate quickly and getting an out of hours appointment over Xmas for respiratory might be tough.

Creche said I can't bring them back for 24 hours with antibiotics. So I said ok I will start it Friday evening to which they said if antibiotics are prescribed they have to take them and can't come to Creche.

To me this sounds like the Creche are playing doctor? Surely if someone medical says right now this child is well and does not need antibiotics their word should count.

I forgot to say that she didn't tell me I could come in until I was at the door. I had to put the kids back in the car.

Creche owner asked to physically see the negative covid result (which I thought was a bit off given that she didn't ask to see it yesterday). She wants the gp to write a letter saying they are fit for Creche. The gp's receptionist said this isn't really something they do for children that are so mildly ill.
