... to ask for small gift ideas for middle aged DH

This question often comes up and I've got some good ideas before from here before. Middle-aged man, never really needs/wants much in way of presents, but want to get some small things.

Some things I did in past that worked OK:

  • football boots (retired! but still does kickabout every Sat with friends)
  • wireless phone charger (used but then used mostly by my DS!)
  • small step ladder + heat lamp for his workshop
  • craft beer selection (also mostly drank by my DS!)
  • local history book about area he is originally from (turns out it was written by an old ex!! haha!!)

Any/all ideas welcome :)

Sounds like this is something you do for you but isnt really making hubby happy/isnt what he wants
So maybe the best gift is no gift 😊

Maybe read the book about the love languages op

@Yeahnahmum ... you are right, it’s me that feels I should get some small thing

There is a similar thread in the Christmas forum.
My DH doesn't ever want anything but he loves things that have been chosen for him iykwim.
General ideas are to upgrade something he has and uses a lot eg, upgrade to cashmere socks, if he likes coffee an aeropress, etc.

Wallet
Aftershave
Personalised key fob (loads of these on Not on the High St)
Football memorabilia (try an auction site like the-sale room.com)

Does he have any niche interests? My DH loves 50s sci-fi and 80s kids’ movies (from his childhood). This Christmas I’m getting him a jigsaw of the ‘Attack of the 50ft Woman’ poster and a doormat that says ‘But first you gotta do the Truffle Shuffle’ (Goonies reference). Other presents that have gone down well include a white noise machine (he’s a poor sleeper) and a Die Hard teatowel.

Swiss Army knife with as many bits as you can afford.

Depending on your budget, flight simulators often come up on Groupn etc. and they can fun.
