AIBU swimming lessons

I’m so pleased that swimming lessons for kinds have restarted, but do they really need to have the skylights open in the changing rooms? My poor kids were so cold when the came out of the pool. It was -3 outside so the changing rooms were absolutely freezing. WIBU to ask them to close the skylights?
The changing rooms aren’t crowded as they have cut down the numbers dramatically, so there’s about 8-10 kids in the whole changing room block. (Around 30ish cubicles).

Our club swimmers aren't even getting changed. It's towel down, mask on and tracksuit/ onesies on and in car. Would that be a option?

I freeze my tits off at work, windows and skylights have to be open.. Covid hates airy rooms apparently

ibblebibbledibble · 08/12/2020 22:17

I wonder if that would be a better option, I’ve been drying them and straight into a onesie, but maybe onesie over the costume and into the car with heater on would be better.

It’s madness isn’t it. My poor eldest son has been so cold at school, even with an extract-shirt and a fleece over the top! Unsurprisingly he’s now off sick!

I agree, it's utterly ridiculous but you are doing well being allowed in the changing rooms in the first place....like pp my club swimmer isn't allowed anywhere near the changing rooms- they have to line up outside in whatever weather, swim ready then go in through the fire exit door, and straight out again afterwards.
My son puts a onesie over his wet stuff, but some children are literally coming out wet with just a towel round them.
I'm less than impressed with the whole set up but just grateful that they are back swimming again.

I swim in a lake and we can't even get changed inside! Towel robe on, swimming costume off, onesie on, coat on. Its amazing how fast you can do it when you are cold already (it was 7' in the lake last week) - for a child I'd do towel robe on and straight to the car with a fleece blanket and a hot water bottle left on the seat, as the less faffing the better

Same here not allowed in changing rooms so I have bought micro fibre dressing gowns from Decathlon, stick them on, run to car, bundle under blankets.

I sat at work the other day with coat and fingerless gloves on as I was so cold, but I have 33 people in one room my windows are staying open. Students are allowed to pop coats on.

We don’t have changing atm it’s a case of going in onesies jump in then dry them off poolside at the end. Is much better tbh.
