Original thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3585490-To-adopt-an-11-year-old-dog

We've had her now for 18 months - in many ways she actually seems significantly younger than when we first got her. We make all her food at home, so her coat is all lovely and just going through that old thread makes me realise how much healthier she looks.

She LOVES swimming (I'm not sure she'd ever been before, we had to push her in the lake the first time). We cannot get her out of the water whenever we're near it.

We're moving house soon (to an island which is all fields and sea) - I think our stress is affecting her a bit as she seems a bit jumpy.

She's cost us a small fortune in vet bills; she showed some abnormalities in her last blood test so she's going in next week for a string of other tests - we're hoping it isn't kidney disease.
I'll be honest; both DP and I love her far too much and we're struggling with the idea of her being old and ever getting ill.
The paranoia of it all keeps me up at night.

Anyway, thought I'd share an update and some photos. I'm feeling all worried about her tonight, and was going to post about it but figured an update one would be nicer Smile

I've just read your entire previous thread and I'm wiping away the tears, especially when reading about Skye's best day ever. Amazing. I'll be following to see how you're all getting on. She's gorgeous and you are amazing for giving her such a happy home.

She's beautiful. I hope everything goes well, OP.

Awww she's gorgeous! She looks so happy. How lovely that you've given an older dog such a happy home for her later years Smile fingers crossed for her tests 🤞🏻

She looks so happy. Sounds like she had an awful life, it's lovely that she's now very much loved and I'm guessing spoiled rotten 😁
