Am I going mad?

I don’t know what to think. I think I might be pregnant.

This is going to be so long. Basically I’m feeling kicks and I could be 24 weeks pregnant but I’ve also been having periods so I don’t know if I’m going nuts or not.

I saw a thread a few days ago about a woman who found out she was really late on pregnant and she went onto have her baby.
I’ve been ignoring kicks in my tummy for a few months now as I thought I was just over tired and being stupid.

I had my first baby in February a month before lockdown.
DH and I didn’t get back at it until our anniversary in June.
Afterwards I thought I was pregnant and took a test which came back negative. I told DH and forgot about it and moved on.

We’ve not been sexually actively regularly AT ALL since the baby was born so if I am pregnant I’m either 24 /25 weeks or 11 weeks.

I’ve had something like periods every two weeks. I assumed because I’m still breastfeeding it’s been messing things up. Also stress from lockdown and new baby etc I just thought that was the cause. They’ve not been anything heavy just light spotting really but every two weeks.

I didn’t go to the doctor because I was trying to avoid it because of covid. I also had quite a few migraines and nauseous times now when I look back.

I thought this was all because I was post partum and had been putting on weight.

Anyway now I’m feeling kicks. I keep thinking it’s just gas or whatever but I counted 19 today in the space of an hour or so. I do sometimes feel pressure and stuff in my pelvis / womb especially when carrying my daughter for long periods or in awkward positions trying to change her nappy and stuff.

It took years for me to get pregnant with my daughter and I just can’t believe I could be pregnant and not know for this long. So I’m sure I’m going completely bonkers and making myself feel something that isn’t happening like pseudo pregnancy or something nutty. DH and I really want to continue our family so this would be happy news. I’m just sure I can’t be ... so why am I feeling these kicks?!

AIBU to think I might be going mad?

I've put on loads of weight, hardly any bleeding at all just a couple of spots twice in 23 months and feel kicks on a daily basis and "movement" but mine are all phantom because I'm still boobing

MrsBrunch · 05/12/2020 19:30

The woman on the other thread first posted 11 November and had her baby a few days ago.

RandomMess · 05/12/2020 19:35

@twittwootwittwoo you do know breastfeeding isn't a reliable form of contraception don't you and that you release an egg before you get your first "proper" period???

With babies 3 & 4 my periods returned within a couple of months...

Ilovesugar · 05/12/2020 19:40

Ekkkkk I hope you do a test and get the answer you want / secretly hoping you share it here as I’m excited for you

Krampusnacht · 05/12/2020 19:42

waitrosetrollydolly · 05/12/2020 19:47

MostDisputesDieAndNoOneShoots · 05/12/2020 19:51

I had phantom licks for a good year after both of mine. I’m sure it’s just that.... probably!

MostDisputesDieAndNoOneShoots · 05/12/2020 19:51

Kicks!!!! 😂

foxyroxyyy · 05/12/2020 19:52

Sorry. I haven't gone yet. I'm reading articles on google about phantom kicks and feeling really stupid.

OP posts:
4boysthatilove · 05/12/2020 19:56

I had a miscarriage a few years back in the March, I still tested positive on a pregnancy test but read hormones stay in the body for several weeks after a miscarriage. Fast forward to May that year and I felt kicks, I then found out I was 22 weeks pregnant and can only imagine it was originally twins and I lost one. I should also mention at this point that I was 46 and on the pill ............................

Namechange8471 · 05/12/2020 20:22

You'll feel much better once you do the test, good luck Flowers

Ohdoleavemealone · 05/12/2020 20:24

Come on OP! Take the test!

HollowTalk · 05/12/2020 20:28

I hope you get the result you want.

UnicornAndSparkles · 05/12/2020 20:28

I'm using contraception where did I say I wasn't or that it was a form of contraception?

AlwaysBehindTheCurve · 05/12/2020 20:36

Just take the test OP, no point getting stressed when you can get an easy answer!

snapple21 · 05/12/2020 20:38

Take the test we all need to know now Grin

RandomMess · 05/12/2020 20:38

Because the way your post reads it's because you're "boobing" which I assumed was breastfeeding and to me it reads like you know you are not pregnant because you are "boobing"...

I breastfed 3 DC and never got any phantom kicks movements.

Lillygolightly · 05/12/2020 20:39

I had lots of phantom kicks after all my pregnancies and I’ll be honest and say that in the past it has worried me a few times so your not alone in that.

Sexnotgender · 05/12/2020 20:41

You don’t need to drink loads, you’ll just dilute your pee. You need to hold for a bit though to concentrate it.

SilverOtter · 05/12/2020 20:44

I'm on the edge of my seat over here....!

sbhydrogen · 05/12/2020 20:47

Take the test first thing tomorrow morning. Good luck, I hope you get the result you want!

twittwootwittwoo · 05/12/2020 20:47

The doctor had only heard of a few cases themselves. I've taken plenty of tests as we re just using condoms.

I'm just saying that I'm still having them because I am still breastfeeding, i am in the the minority but it does happen

LightSwitchedOn · 05/12/2020 20:48

My first child was an ivf pregnancy. I fell pregnant naturally with my second when first was still breastfeeding and 5 months old. Although DH and I thought we were infertile and didn't use any contraception.

I worked for a woman who didn't realise she was pregnant. She had three negative home tests. A blood test put her at 6 weeks, she was actually 28 weeks pregnant.

Good luck op.
