£1

Einszwei · 05/12/2020 15:21

£1 unless tooth fairy forgets, in which case a late payment tax bumps it up to £2

Alloftheboys · 05/12/2020 15:41

£1 and a lovely note from the Tooth Fairy.
She updates the kids on what she’s building with the teeth - conservatory, kitchen units etc.
I know that if I die OH will not carry on this tradition.

Usually a £2 coin if I have one!

ParkheadParadise · 05/12/2020 15:47

My 6 year old really doesn't understand the value of money and gets just as excited by a penny as she does a pound, so the tooth fairy gives whatever she has in her purse, usually a 20p coin but sometimes 50p or £1.

On one memorable occasion the tooth fairy had a very busy night and didn't make it to our house until about 9am the next morning, so she left a trail of coins from the window to the bedroom to make up for it. That was an exciting day.

kowari · 05/12/2020 15:58

@Friolero

£2 for first tooth, £1 for each tooth after that.
Same. I stopped paying after the first 8 though.
trinibrit · 05/12/2020 16:00

£2 for a clean tooth and £1 for a dirty tooth, as decided by the tooth fairy. Always give £2 but this helps in getting him to brush his teeth every day because he is protecting his ability to get more money later from the tooth fairy!

chunkyrun · 05/12/2020 16:03

My next door neighbours kid told me the tooth fairy gives you 50p for your first tooth then that's it 🤔

Put straight into the bank because the tooth fairy is so shocking at remembering around here.

ParkheadParadise · 05/12/2020 16:09

My mum had 6 of us. The tooth fairy was probably a pain in the arse to deal with.
The tooth fairy always forgot to come. I can remember my dad coming in our room and spotting the 50p on the floor that the tooth fairy dropped and taking the tooth to send to them.😆😆

APurpleSquirrel · 05/12/2020 16:16

£5 for the first, then £1 thereafter. The tooth fairy forgot last week Blush & DD woke to find her tooth still in the bag! DH covered by saying it was still dark out & she must be running late, then found a £ sharpish!

Coulddowithanap · 05/12/2020 16:19

£1 here

DaisyMaureen · 05/12/2020 16:21

WoolieLiberal · 05/12/2020 16:23

Was £1 but a few years ago for mine now.

I’d probably stretch to £2 now.

elQuintoConyo · 05/12/2020 16:32

My kids have a gohenry card and the toothfairy pays on there after we “send” the tooth because if COVID risk

@Soubriquet this is genius!! You win the internet today.

DS was 9 years old when he lost number 7 and 8, then 11 when he started losing them again. He is still losing them at 14 and has his first 12 year old molar starting to come through. I paid for the first 8 but then he was at secondary school and wasn't bothered about £1. Do others pay for all 20?

2tired2bewitty · 05/12/2020 16:50

The tooth fairy was caught out by a tooth that was looser than expected recently, so had to leave 40p The recipient was delighted with because she got four coins! 😁

ThatDamnScientist · 05/12/2020 16:53

@NoPainNoTartine

£2

Nearly went up to £10 during the lockdown when I had no cash but was rescued by a neighbour Grin
Make a stash of coins!

That happened to me with my eldest. Many moons ago, remembered in the middle of the night so she ended up with £10. She got £1 per tooth after that (ensured there was a stash of coins!).

Dd2 lost her first during lockdown luckily I managed to find a £1 in bag (it was that or a 2p!) and once again now have a stash waiting!

Watto1 · 05/12/2020 16:54

Usually a £1 coin. Dd had a $1 dollar bill when she lost a tooth in Florida and ds had a pounds worth of silver when he lost a tooth at bedtime and neither dh or I had any pound coins!
