To leave bad reviews on Facebook ads...

A lot of my Facebook feed is ads for products, that...
I probably don't want
I know I wouldn't like

Then today there was a product very similar to something I have tried. So in the comments I wrote a mini review of why the product design wasn't good, and suggested an alternative design that does similar function but much more effectively. Then I wrote comments why both products usually become faulty after short periods of use (non-functional) due to other design flaws.

I am probably a cowbag but Facebook deserves it for feeding me too many ads, mostly for expensive products I have zero interest in. My question really is, was what I wrote a waste of time? Does the product maker get to edit & remove critical comments so then no one will see the critical things I wrote? I know I can just hide the ads instead.. yet they wanted engagement, and they got it. So why should they complain?

I run Facebook ads for my career change programme.

Yes, we can just delete comments.

The only negative one I've had though is from a woman who saw my business name (Thrive) and went on a rant about how I should be ashamed of myself because of my business practices and how much I'd ruined the life of Shanaan Watts (the woman that was murdered along with her children by Chris Watts in the US).

The Thrive she was referring to is a sort of Juice Plus type MLM in America.

I'm a career change specialist in the UK.

So...yeah...sort of feel I was within rights to delete that mad ramble Grin

Back to the point - they'll probably delete it I reckon!

Thanks. So I will also remember how incredibly unbalanced the comments can be too, not worth reading.

i hate the adverts that facebook have, and i will comment SCAM on most of them (*unless its a small business or person - i'm talking about the ones which are due to covid we have to sell off all xyz type shitty crappy ads)

You can write what you like on Facebook but I don't think what you've described is a review as such. Because you've not bought it its more of an opinion on what the product may be like?

I was commenting on the design flaw(s) which I can explain very specifically why it's a problem with real life experience. But yeah, I was just trying to figure out how much I was wasting my time to say anything.

A lot of the "our workshop hasn't survived the crisis!" stuff is lovely. Just that I don't buy lovely stuff. Facebook doesn't understand me at all.

They can obviously delete bad ones, as so many ads I see say they have 90 comments, but only 4 are visible (and gushing..), and such.

ChristmasFluff · 04/12/2020 20:25

they are all scams. Just hide them. Eventually you end up with pure pension and insurance ads that you can totally ignore

Skysblue · 04/12/2020 23:37

I commented on an ad once (that I found it creepy, and why) and fb notified all of my friends about my petty comment. Was a bit embarrassed. Won’t comment on an ad again!
