I’ve just been to the fridge, and the meat I was planning on cooking is past it’s sell by date and a little bit smelly!

Do I go to my local and see what they have? Or do I commence sitting on arse and order a pizza?

YABU - Get to the shops you lazy fish wife

YANBU - Get pizza on a Tuesday - live in the edge

have beans on toast - or whatever is in the cupboard and go out to a restaurant tomorrow - tons better.

Kissthepastrychef · 01/12/2020 18:26

We work shifts so any day in our house can be the "weekend". Go for it

Us too. Our Saturday night is sometimes a Wednesday complete with cocktails, prosecco and a takeaway.

And a rough hangover at work on a Thursday!

TatianaBis · 01/12/2020 18:34

If you swap pizza for Japanese I’m with you.

We have Takeaway Tuesdays...just ordered ours - Indian this week Grin

WombatChocolate · 01/12/2020 18:41

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys typically spending on a family takeaway?

I’m fascinated by how many people are having weekly or more than once a week because I just don’t feel I can afford it. And I think we’re on a pretty good income.

Enjoy your takeaways and not doing any washing up.

shinynewapple2020 · 01/12/2020 18:42

Do you need an excuse ?
As long as your current finances don't mean that it's costing the week's housekeeping or your DC's Christmas present fund then get the takeaway ! Enjoy !

PurpleDaisies · 01/12/2020 18:47

It’s only dh and I so spend £10-£20 depending on the take away. It’s the unhealthiness that mainly limits our take away.

Carishina · 01/12/2020 18:51

What sort of pizza would you order? I need to know before I can decide if YABU.
(I’m just nosey really)

Creepertime · 01/12/2020 18:54

Just had our second takeaway in a week and feel zero guilt!

Georgyporky · 01/12/2020 18:56

Only time I get one - delivery times are dreadful at the weekend & sometimes fail to arrive

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 01/12/2020 18:57

Sorry @Aragog - definitely get the takeaway Gin

MagicSummer · 01/12/2020 18:58

I hate any kind of takeaway - Chinese, Indian, Thai, horrible Kentucky Fried Chicken and especially McDonalds. But each to their own .....

DoveGreylove · 01/12/2020 18:59

Guess it must cost £20. Takeaway, sometimes more depending on what we choose. We do it twice a week I'd say

There are so many restaurants offering takeaway with COVID situation and we want to support local!

DoveGreylove · 01/12/2020 19:00

@MagicSummer a takeaway doesn't need to be mcdonalds or KFC etc... It can be Japanese, french, spanish. Restaurant quality!

Sexnotgender · 01/12/2020 19:01

We had Indian on Thursday. My husband was meant to cook and forgot.

yetanothernamitynamechange · 01/12/2020 19:02

As others have said, you are not being lazy, you are heroically saving the economy and supporting buisnesses

nitreatoalasg · 01/12/2020 19:03

I never knew it was a "thing" that takeaways are for the weekend only.

PatchworkElmer · 01/12/2020 19:07

We’re having a takeaway tonight too!

theotherfossilsister · 01/12/2020 19:11

We just ordered from our favourite Indian Restuarant as it's been a shit day. I feel a bit boring as we always order the same, and mean to branch out but don't.

Their food is the best in Edinburgh though, even if they do take longer than most to deliver.

You know, I often come across threads that are about, or discussing, something that doesn't interest me .... and I just press the back arrow marked
