AIBU for feeling immense pride?

AIBU to feel immense pride and wonder in my child?

We’ve just had the perfect Sunday. Walked the dog. Came home, had breakfast, and then I began to deep clean the kitchen whilst she Depoped her clothes in the living room. DD is 13. And whilst we were doing this, I played her classic albums - Blondie, Lauren Hill…of course for her musical education! And she bopped around whilst modelling her clothes to sell.

Background. My mum, DD grandmother, has just been released from Hospital after her second attendance in two months with various end of life symptoms. We can’t visit because of Covid. So, after deciding on prayers we could say if the worst is around the corner, on our dog walk, we came home and made a memory.

And the memory will be forever embedded in my, and I hope her, mind, because we did a Mummy and daughter thing together which my Mum would so approve of…tidying. And what I, as Mum would want to bestow to my DD - great music.

I’m always time-poor and generally have a veneer of tidiness and cleanliness…but today was one day where we did a deep clean together.
And whilst doing this I played ‘my’ music. And then DD wanted her music. And it could not have been more perfect. Apple Indie bands…my life pre DD all coming forth, so whilst I was deep cleaning kitchen, she was bopping to what is ‘new’ music to her.

Passing the baton on…deep cleaning, which my Mum was so good at and would so approve of, with fabulous music which I so approve of!!

The circle of life. AIBU to have a constant smile on my face for the deep pride I feel in my DD? (I want to shout from the rooftops about my fabulous DD!!) I hope not. I hope we all have days like this.

Sounds a bit bonkers OP but I think I get what you mean. Bit of a miracle that you got your teenager to clean, listen to your music and actually enjoy it?

Sounds lovely about the memories you shared. x
