AIBU to want to report this?

Name changed as this is potentially outing.

My workplace is a busy place that supposedly has lots of measures in place to make it as Covid secure as possible, but it’s not, despite saying that they are.

I am concerned and am wondering if there is anywhere it can be reported so that things can be made safer.

Some examples that I hope are non specific enough to not be outing.

-hard surfaces not cleaned daily (unless you do your own - many people don’t).
-floors only mopped once a week
-staff sit together in the staffroom (no distancing at all and no windows or doors open)
-people sitting in shared offices (3 staff per office) with no windows or doors open - including management.
-vulnerable staff not been given their own risk assessments and none shared with staff despite one generic one.

Most of the staff are young and have openly said they are not worried about Covid. They don’t even try and distance in the staffroom - literally sitting right next to eachother.

I don’t use the staff room as I don’t feel it’s safe and it feels like I am the only one cleaning things.

Is there anyone I can report this to? Management are doing this but there’s nobody above them to talk to. We are key workers so won’t close.

I am getting increasingly worried about what is going on. Does anyone else work somewhere like this?

AIBU for wanting to report my concerns? It would have to be anonymous due to the nature of some colleagues.

Just type "How do I report my non covid secure workplace" into Google and it comes up.

Your union?

I'd raise them with management again however you have a real mixed bag of issues

I'm not sure how mopping the floor more frequently will help reduce the covid exposure... I really wouldn't raise this.

Communal hard surfaces... Why can't people clean after themselves? ...

Why is the staff room open? Most covid RA for companies I've seen have stopped this type of communal areas... In factories where can't eat at desk it's staggered times and cleaned by those using.

How big are the shared offices? Are they 2m apart?

Can the windows be opened, many workplaces can't...
We require the person running meeting to open windows, ensuring adequate social distancing and clean down afterwards with the provided equipment.
or do you have air conditioning that's been turned to take in clean air rather than recirculation instead.
An employer can remove extra chairs in communal areas, Mark the floor so adequate distance apart but if people keep creeping back together you end up either closing down these areas (perhaps easiest) or discipline process.

I hope this is not a school environment

Allegedly the hotline is anonymous but it does ask for your details, I think I would start with speaking to HR if you can, or union.

Our local council has a bit of their website where you can report a business for not following rules but dont think its anonymous

There must be thousands of work places like that. We weren’t even wearing masks inside until very recently. We were supposed to be keeping our distance from others, but many people didn’t. It was common to find three or four colleagues gathered in a tiny kitchen for a chat.
