What are your favourite high protein breakfast? I am really stuck with ideas and need to up my protein intake.

Internet is full of suggestions, but they are often less than practical when you have to buy decent ingredients, rush to get kids ready for school and rush to go to work.

I would also prefer staying clear of protein supplements and there's only so many eggs I can stomach first thing in the morning.

Skyr style yogurt, milk and berries in a smoothie. Both milk and skyr are quite low calorie with a big protein hit. I use natural skyr and add protein powder to the smoothie, I can get over 30gm of protein this way.

make a batch of low carb granola and have with yogurt, I do this a lot. There are loads of recipes online but here is an example

Eggs are about 6g protein, they're mostly water, and I have not got time in my life to cook eggs first thing.

Skyr is about 10g protein per 100g, so I have about 150g skyr + 49g granola.

It's quick, doesn't require much thinking and genuinely keeps me going till lunch.

Hitthatroadjack · 28/11/2020 10:53

thank you!

I have to admit I had never heard of skyr Blush
I am glad I asked!

If you like eggs get an omelette maker
Cost around £15 no mess and you get two lovely fluffy omelettes in 5 mins
3 eggs will make you two decent half size omelettes
just add whatever extra stuff you want in with the eggs
